A Professor from Bristol University sets off today on an epic adventure travelling to Tibet by train. Tom Troscianko , who teaches psychology ,  will spend the next month covering the 9,300-miles from Bristol Temple Meads to Lhasa in Tibet (link below.)

The mammoth journey is believed to be the longest trip you can make from Bristol by train and will take in 11 countries.

Starting in England , Tom will travel through Belgium , Germany , Poland , Belarus , Russia , Mongolia , China , Tibet , Nepal and India.
