Yesterday, Bath in the late afternoon and Trowbridge in the early evening ... the 17:35 from Bath, 3 carriages ( I thought they were all supposed to be five?) and with people standing and few masks being worn, though some were seated and maintaining social distancing by blocking the seat beside them with their bags.

Back from Trowbridge to Melksham on the last train of the day - the 20:12, with some 15 people joining at Trowbridge and a dozen off at Melksham- obviously more people on the train which had started back from Westbury and was continuing on all the way via Chippenham and Swindon to Cheltenham Spa.  Others off at Trowbridge and on at Melksham.  That's really good  going - this train was one of the two "lemons" prior to 2014 and it was unusual to have more passengers that crew on the train - see how far forward we have come.  Mid evening it will never be the busiest service, but a very necessary one to help people complete their journeys; my personal day yesterday was three buses and two trains, and without that final train t would have taken a car for all five legs.

There remains a need for a later train ... further round trip at around 22:00 from Westbury and 23:00 from Swindon ...
