The above announcement was made yesterday by the guard on this service just after the train sailed through Feltham.

Loads of not very happy people on board. 'How can he just forget to stop'?

Arrived four minutes early at Staines. Platform going back towards London filled up quickly ...

From what I've read, that's an uncomfortable, no tea & biccys meeting with a line manager - "Please advise why...." (in the terms of an old Civil Service notice)

If it’s a driver error then, yes.  It could be for one of a number of other reasons though.  GWR (Great Western Railway) usually has a couple of dozen ‘fail to call’ incidents each year for a wide variety of reasons (though I expect driver error is the most common.

It does seem odd as it isn't a station with a varying call pattern. I can't find any passenger service that is timetabled to pass at a quick glance.
