From the BTP (British Transport Police) press release:

Quote
British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for the public^s help to identify a man they want to speak to in connection with an incident at Westbury railway station.

Police were alerted by a member of staff at the station who reported a passenger had threatened to shoot him in the head following an altercation about the price of a train ticket.

The incident happened at about 12.30pm on Saturday 7 November.

A man in his 20s was asked to leave a London Paddington to Plymouth service at Westbury rail station as he had no ticket.

He was taken to the booking office at Westbury where he was informed a ticket from London would cost him ^140.

It was then he made the threat to shoot the member of staff in the head. No weapons were seen and no violence occurred but the member of staff was left shaken by the incident.

The man left the station on foot and the member of staff called police.

BTP officers and colleagues from Wiltshire Police attended but despite carrying out a search of the area, the man was not found.

Officers investigating the incident have today released CCTV (Closed Circuit Tele Vision) images of a man they believe can help with their enquiries into the incident.

The man they want to speak to is described as white, in his 20s and about 5ft 9in. He was wearing a dark-coloured pinstripe suit, white shirt and bow tie and was carrying a large, camouflage-style backpack.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

Odd attire?   and perhaps quite distinctive.  Looks like a student to me??

Shame the CCTV (Closed Circuit Tele Vision) images are not better.

Shame it takes 6 weeks to publicise the incident. I would have thought BTP (British Transport Police) would get a better public response if they got the appeals out quicker.

I agree, but may not have been all BTP (British Transport Police)'s fault.  How long did FGW (First Great Western) take to provide the CCTV (Closed Circuit Tele Vision) footage?
