William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

Portishead. The Fishing village near the RNLI station which was in a previous incarnation, the goods station built by Brunel, for trains loading/unloading at Portishead pier.

I  think the nearest equivalent in naming that location so quickly is in 'name that tune' where a contestant says
 'I'll name that tune in one' as someone plays an A on the piano.....

A reminder to me (as if it were needed  Roll Eyes ) that Coffee Shop members chuffed and trainer are our 'resident experts' on the history of the railways hereabouts (North Somerset).
