Been ongoing problems out of Waterloo this evening.  Someone was hit by a train at Richmond just after 16:00.  Soon after the line re-opened a second person was struck at Mortlake.  FGW (First Great Western) are accepting tickets via Paddington and Slough as both the SWT (South West Trains) lines to Reading and Windsor & Eton Riverside are affected.

Richmond & Twickenham Times reporting on the first incident.

Quote
A woman has been killed after she was hit by a train at Richmond station.

The incident happened at just after 4pm today and police said they were not treating it as suspicious.

It is expected to cause huge delays for commuters heading home this evening after affecting all mainline and suburban services.

A passenger who was on the Waterloo to Reading train that hit the woman said it suddenly ground to a halt halfway in the station.

(story continues in link)

Thoughts with all those involved, especially any emergency service people who, by chance, had to attend both.

My thoughts are with the driver mainly, must be horrific as a driver to experience that
