From the rail usage figures 2020/1 v 2019/20 - all the drops at City centre stations. Note the ranking - every single one of these has seen greater than average drop in use in percentage terms (there are 2570 stations so the median would be 1285) - so where is all the traffic going from those stations that have not weakened?

To and from work, largely. The fraction of all work local to a station rated as "can't-be-done-in-pyjamas" is quite high in a lot places, it just happens to be very low in city centres. And there's where the workers live too.

A lot of people, including me, have work that can be done in pyjamas or not in pyjamas. But it's too cold for not-in-pyjamas now.  Shocked
