In connection with the Pommery Sea Food Festival at Weymouth, SWR» (South Western Railway - about) ran a special. 2Z09 0816 Salisbury to Yeovil Junction, 2Z10 0915 Junction to Pen Mill, 2Z12 0935 back to Junction. Then 2Z20 1155 Junction to Weymouth and 2Z52 at 1700 back to Salisbury.
On top of that the Northern Belle ran down to Weymouth from Swindon, via Bristol, returning via Wareham. It was 49 late leaving Maiden Newton, most lost between Bruton and Pen Mill.

Sounds like a lovely day in Weymouth ... I regret missing ... story at http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=20086.0 (Frequent Posters Club).

In BR (British Rail(ways)) days  Grin the Northern Belle would have stopped at Westbury to pick up the 30 passengers who's advertised connection failed by a few seconds, but I guess this isn't BR days.

Unless we're discussing drivers working Sundays or not working Sundays.
