Yes, you can buy it from any staffed ticket office on the day.

Or indeed on board subject to two conditions:

1. You are starting your journey from a station with no ticket buying facilities
2. The TM(resolve)/Conductor/ATE you encounter knows how to issue Rovers from their Avantix (Ticket Issuing System used on board trains)

The changes are included in Journey planners, but bear in mind major works start between Chippenham and Bath Spa this weekend so there are longer journey times and some bus replacement if you are heading east of Bristol.

The booking conditions state.........
"Available after 09:00 (Mondays-Fridays) or when Off-Peak Day Return is valid (whichever is earlier). Additionally valid on the 08:26 Westbury to Penzance service."

If an Off Peak Day Return is not shown as being available, can you substitute 'Off Peak Return' into the above conditions? For instance, no Day Return fare is shown for EXD» (Exeter St Davids - next trains)-NWP, but an Off Peak Return is available on the 0624 service.

As far as I'm aware it only applies to a corresponding Off Peak Day Return (if earlier) where available. Otherwise 0900 or list of easements.

Thanks BNM. Unfortunately for me, I think the only easement available from EXD» (Exeter St Davids - next trains) relates to the Barnstaple line   Sad . Therefore, an early return to Barnstaple will precede boarding the 0924 to Cheltenham, then onwards to Swindon via Kemble; Soton via Melksham; then Castle Cary via Weymouth and finally back to EXD.

Day 2 touring the Cornish branch lines;

Day 3 (Saturday); 0624 EXD-BRI» (Bristol Temple Meads - next trains) in time for the Weymouth Wizard via Swindon and Melksham; Weymouth to Portsmouth; Portsmouth to Eastleigh; Eastleigh to Salisbury via Chandlers Ford; and finally SAL-PIN.

Day 4 (Sunday) - Dartmoor Rover; SJP-OKE;OKE-GSL (Bus);GSL-PLY» (Plymouth - next trains)-EXD
