My opinion the HS2 station is a victim of the usual way Uk Governments deal with infrastructure projects. The like the dream of world class infrastructure, they make headline policy announcements with £ attached to to it, but then the Government dither and delay making the actual decision to build. The £ they announced it is then expected the private sector should cough up most of it, then several times through the project the Government changes its mind, or as is the case with Euston freeze the progress midway and then when it restarts the Government complain about the excessive cost. We are world leaders is construction mega infrastructure projects, but less than third world when it comes to political leadership and commitment. Note my view is apolitical |

This clearly shows that Whitehall's right hand doesn't know what Westminster's right hand wants and Westminster's right hand doesn't know what Whitehall's left hand is doing ................ Typical when the strings of a major project are micro managed by Whitehall and Westminster Politically control the money No wonder HS2 construction is in the confusion it is in |

It was, after all, their idea in the first place. But then the ULEZ was a Conservative idea that the Conservatives used to defeat Labour in a by-election. Who thought of a project matters little at the Hustings. Look at the Edinburgh trams, proposed by Labour in the face of fierce opposition by the SNP, who "reluctantly" finished the job when they took power. With the completion of the recent extension, the same government lauds it as a shining example of how to do public transport, while focus on the cost over-runs and delays has shifted to the cost of the delayed report into those delays. |

Residents of Acton & Solihull are eagerly awaiting their new express trains which they have been advised will arrive sometime around 2040 (they were a little disappointed when they were told that referred to the year, not the time!)  |
