Railway geography question ... how can a train be routed to avoid Newport?  Or have they simply closed the station for the night rather than waiting for the last train?

Quote
21:48 London Paddington to Swansea due 01:07
15/10/20 21:48 London Paddington to Swansea due 01:07 will no longer call at Newport South Wales.
It has been previously delayed but is now 150 minutes late from Cardiff Central.
This is due to a person hit by a train.

Just run through the station without stopping.

With a delay of over two hours I suspect station staff had gone home by then and the exits locked.

Don't think any one would have been waiting for the train any way,
considering that were another four trains to depart to Cardiff after the paddington service should have departed.
Maybe those in charge found out if their MIGHT have been any one on board for Newport
and decided not to get the train stopped at newport
