I was watching some videos on YouTube of the forest railway. It took me back to when I used to work there in its final years of operation  and I was wondering does anyone else miss that railway and locos like I do. And does anyone know what happend to the locos is it true they are in Australia?

Yes I miss it a bit.  I used to look after the signalling system.  Last time I passed by (over 18 months ago) the railway looked to be still intact but rusting away.

Thanks for those photographs.  The first one shows the foot crossing with its flashing red lights.  It was later removed and replaced by a footbridge as it was percieved to be too dangerous although it did have gates that were worked by a point machine Grin

.....and by the way I would never have wanted to have an arguement with one of the locos.  Despite the fact the track gauge was only 7.25 inches the locos were big (In some cases as you know, very big).
