Many of the new images at the top of the pages (see http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=19388 ) are easily placed (or in contrast almost impossible to place from what little I've included).  But here are six of the best for a "where's this" competition - as ever, just one go each please for the first 24 hours ... and I expect they will all have been guessed by that point!

111 - Chippenham - Phil

093 - Bath Spa - Bobm
093:

078:

066 - Bridgend - Brooklea
066:

060 - Melksham - Timmer

Is 060 Kemble?

I'm afraid not ... though you may be on some of the right lines - or shall we say services?

093 Bath Spa

Correct ...

I look at the phone boxes there (two) and the letter box and wonder from amongst all the crowds there how many people have actually used one of the pay phones at that (or any) station, or post boxes at that (or any) station in the last year?

I am glad to see the Bath also offers Parent changing facilities.  Just in case kids have had quite enough of their present incumbents - quite enlightened really.

I wonder how many have tried to use this 'postbox' at Brookwood (clue: you can't it's sealed up):

Not sure why it's there. Maybe it's keeping the wall up (!).

I'll have a random stab at 060 as Dilton Marsh. I guess it must be one of those ones using the special modified turbos.

It isn't Dilton Marsh.   Until a couple of days ago there were only three turbos which had been fitted with an inside door panel to allow just a single set of doors to be opened, and at Dilton Marsh those were the only three turbos allowed to call for passenger purposes.  My understanding is that another couple of turbos are having the mods done at present (last couple of days / next few days?) and that that's part of an ongoing program.

The same current situation as at Dilton Marsh applies at some other stations with short platforms, but at others extra signage has ben fitted to allow an interim solution - and it's that signage in the picture.

I have printed off a load of letters and stuffed them in envelopes between Swindon and Bath Spa - nipped off the train at  the station and posted them before continuing west on the same train.  You can do the same at Taunton, although it is an old Queen Victoria box with a smaller aperture - so not as useful if you have a lot of letters to post quickly!

Is 111 Chippenham?

Yes, it is ... south side, to the west of the booking office.

Signage for the new setup at Chippenham has a few wrinkles to be worked out.  Follow the "night entrance" sign and you come to another sign saying "No Entrance to station - enter through ticket office".  And of course regular users will know that this IS the level / disabled access to the station platforms, day and night, whatever the signs say.  Go in through that gate, turn left, and you can walk down the out of use platform to the lift ...

Alas, unknowing wheelchair users and people who need the lift are following the instructions and going in through the ticket office, using the wide gate that's provided there, and finding themselves at the bottom of the steps to the old over bridge. The solution then is go out the exit gate line (help needed as their ticket won't work it), along the old platform, up in the lift, across to the middle of the new bridge and through the gate line for third time (help needed again as their ticket has been used already), right round the lift shaft and down (phew!) to the platform.

060 is...Melksham.

Yes, it is ...
