Having disappeared in the direction of Bristol about 30 minutes late, at the end of the afternoon the train didn't appear at the expected time, and around an hour and three quarters later was announced as cancelled from Bath back to London Victoria. Not sure what happened to it (or the people who intended to be aboard it...)

It''s showing on RTT» (Real Time Trains - website) as (1) cancelled, and (2) running nearly two hours late (left Bath 18:51, currently passing Uffington). I will most likely miss it coming through Wokingham, especially if it's hauled by its friend at the other end (which I just caught sight of on the way out).

Thanks for this. Perhaps it's the Schroedingers train, simultaneously cancelled and running.

In the case of a steam train, they have had a longer experience and will be asked to pay a surcharge.

The last couple of excursions have been switched into Bath Spa's up platform, hence the sight yesterday of an iep held for a few minutes awaiting a path. Is the down platform no good for them, does anyone know?

Video from various places, including from Oldfield Park at around 6'30" of the switch from the up main to the down main and an iep waiting hopefully patiently.

The author also gives the reason for the late return journey as down to a delayed delivery of coal at Bristol.
