The First Great Western Coffeeshop moderator team is meeting this weekend at a venue in Wiltshire to ensure that we continue to coordinate our approach.

Picture - some of the team at Melksham station having arrived on the "TransWilts" services at 19:11 (on time) from Swindon and 19:47 (16 late) from Westbury.

This is posted from the opening of the meeting - we will be around even today ;-)

Yesterday, we held our first moderator's meeting, with the majority of moderators and also the admins in attendance.  As the operator of the board, I'm going to say what a fabulous team they are (even if they look a bit scary in the picture above), and I'm honoured that they're helping to supportthe Coffeeshop.

Management conclusion from the meeting:

"Pretty much where we want to be. Balanced, with the right team, but we're learning and making some minor tweaks."

Here are some of the highlights / places you'll see tweaks:

- Add in Sion as moderator (done)
- Add in Leah and Chris E / Chimetal as admins (done)
- Clarify copyright of what people post up (done)
- Add a link on main template from "posting rules" statement (done)
- Advertising policy (done - see "West but not trains")
- Add calendar / events board (done)
- no change on language / etiquette rules
- confirmed that area / region covered is about right.
- no additional board relating to rolling stock types
- Possible add censored words automatic facility
- Add ignore_user and ignore_board options for users.
- Looking forward - "We'll meet again, don't know where ...."

A lot of this is detailed / organisational - please feel free to ask if you want to know more about any of the areas or the reasons beind the decisions.   Some excellent discussions but I can't say "lively" as we were all pretty much agreed on most topics!

You can find out more about how this forum works [here] - that will link you to a copy of the forum agreement that you can read before you join, and tell you very much more about how we operate. We are an independent forum, provided and run by customers of Great Western Railway, for customers of Great Western Railway and we welcome railway professionals as members too, in either a personal or official capacity. As well as posting messages onto existing threads, and starting new subjects, members can communicate with each other through personal messages if they wish. And once members have made a certain number of posts, they will automatically be admitted to the "frequent posters club", where subjects not-for-public-domain are discussed; anything from the occasional rant to meetups we may be having ...
