Andrew Haine's information revolution continues and you can now find weekend timetables for the December timetable change here:

http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/Content.aspx?id=1786

This is an improvement on last year when only Mon-Fri draft timetables were published. Hopefully Cardiff-Portsmouth/Weymouth Saturday TT makes an appearance on this page soon. Happy reading!

Only problem with these timetables is that they only include FGW (First Great Western) trains and exclude VT (Virgin Trains - former franchises)/SWT (South West Trains)

Agree that it's good to have advance copies of weekend services available as they often contain nasty surprises. However, a quick glance of the Sunday Weymouth Bristol service shows the 1st train departs 1800 whilst the OJP (Online Journey Planner) reveals a departure at 1400. Whilst it might only be a draft, it's a bit of a glaring inconsistency. Perhaps a word of caution when reading just in case there are others.

I have emailed FGW (First Great Western) to ask why the Saturday Cardiff-Portsmouth/Weymouth timetable link isnt working. It may not be available yet but bearing in mind all the Saturday timetables have the date of 25/09 on each link I find it strange that this one TT is not available. I will let you know when its available.

My interest is the Bristol TM(resolve) - Bristol PW (Permanent Way) - Yate - Cam & Dursley - Gloucester - Cheltenham - Worcester - Great Malvern services, I can't find these services on either the Saturday or Sunday service timetables posted. They are included in the Monday - Friday Cardiff - Bristol - Porstmouth draft TT. Help anyone.

I thought the Cardiff-Portsmouth draft timetable for Sunday looked a bit short, it doesnt include Bristol-Gloucester-Great Malvern or Cardiff-Taunton services does it. We are still waiting for the Saturday TT to make an appearance so it will be interesting to see if they are on that timetable. I wonder if they are splitting this timetable up back to how the timetables were back in the Wessex trains day?

UPDATE:

I received a reply from FGW a few days back to say that their internet team have been informed that the link for the above Saturday timetable isn't working. So far nothing has been done to rectify this.

No we are not sadly Paul. They probably won't bother now as they will be publishing the full final timetables anytime now.
