Looks like this new "facility" is now in place on platform 2/3.  Please tell me it's only temporary and that there's actually going to be a proper waiting room which has doors, heating and seats!

Thousands of pounds has been spent on train station improvement works in the Berkshire area.

First Great Western (FGW (First Great Western)) have installed new toilets at Cookham and Langley train stations and waiting shelters on platforms 2/3 at Maidenhead and Twyford train stations.

The shelters have energy efficient lighting, new seats and space for wheelchairs.

FGW and Network Rail is spending more than ^1million on minor station improvement works across the country.

Work will also begin on increasing the number of cycle storage hoops at Maidenhead Station from Monday.

The work will last about a week. It will not be possible to use the cycle hoops during this time.

"The shelters have energy efficient lighting, new seats and space for wheelchairs."

...What the shelter doesn't have is doors or walls that go down to the floor.  That measn that there's no way to heat it when its cold and it certainly won't stop the rain, particularly not when it's windy.
