Greetings all,

Within the last few days Stagecoach South West have published details of a large number of route and timetable changes to take effect during October and November. I won't publish the details of changes here otherwise you would be reading it until midnight but the routes affected by these changes are as follows. Data source is the Stagecoach website at the link given later in this post.

From 02nd October:
Seasonal changes.
Torbay: Services 12, 17, 17A, 18, 31, 35A, 35C, 271
Service 95 (Exmouth - Sandy Bay) to continue hourly for winter season.
Withdrawl for winter of 122 (Dawlish- Teignmouth) & 222 (Babbacombe - Devon Bay).

Permanent timetable revisions:
Torbay: Services 2, 13, 22. Also new 53 (Shiphay - Kingsteignton) in connection with changes to the 13.

From 31st October
More expansive route and timetable changes to the services shown below.

Exmouth:
Revised: 58, 157, 357
Withdrawn: 58C

Exeter City:
Revised: A, B1, B2, C, E1, E2, F,  H1, H2, I, J, P, R & S
Withdrawn: X, Y, Z, Red P&R (Park and Ride).

Eastern Exeter:
Revised: 4
New: 4A (in place of 56 & 56A) and 43 (Pinhoe Station - Exeter Airport.
Withdrawn: Red P&R, 56 & 56A. All replaced by services 4 & 4A.

North of Exeter:
New: 346 (replacing 155 between South Molton & Tiverton to same route), 351 and 355 (replacing 55B to same route). Devon CC contracts.
Revised: 5, 6, 6A (extensive revisions to those three!), 55, 58, 155 (withdrawn South Molton to Exeter), 373
Withdrawn: 5A, 5B, 5C, 55A, 55B, 58C.
Devon CC looking to provide contract routes to replace 5A, 5B, 5C between Exeter & North Devon and Service 58 between Budleigh Salterton & Exeter.
Service 6A to be replaced Launceston to Okehampton by tendered Service 306.
Operators and details all TBC at present but I could see TfC, who have a base at Launceston (I think) taking the 306.

North Devon (Barnstaple / Bude):
New: 317 (Bideford - Okehampton in place of Service 75A) & 346 (South Molton - Tiverton in place of, and same route as, 155). Devon CC contracts.
Revised: 19, 21, 21A, 21C, 71, 75, 85, 319
Withdrawn: 75A, 75B

Plymouth:
Service 3 (Plymouth - Dartmouth) to be split into two routes as 3 (Plymouth - Kingsbridge) and 93 (Kingsbridge - Dartmouth) which is how it used to be. No need to change buses at Kingsbridge though so related to driver hours regs or something like that I guess.

Service 91 (Dartmouth P&R) suspended for winter season.

06th November 2022
Newton Abbot:
Stagecoach to take over Service 75 (Newton Abbot Hospital - Newtake & Decoy).

Full details available online at https://www.stagecoachbus.com/promos-and-offers/south-west/south-west-timetables but you will need to click "see more" due to the amount of information. I can't help wondering if the reintroduction of, and later timetable improvements to, the Okehampton - Exeter train service has effectively seen off the 6 & 6A though and I strongly suspect that Okehampton will see more rail passengers once these bus changes come in because the connection between buses for passengers travelling through from Bude to Exeter would be 20 minutes at Okehampton and involve a change of vehicle.

HTIOU,
Dave
