From BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page) News website:

Woman sexually assaulted on train from Bristol

A woman was sexually assaulted on a train after going to a concert in Bristol, police have revealed.

The attack took place after the woman, who was travelling alone, was returning to Exeter from Bristol Temple Meads.

Police say the man repeatedly tried to kiss the 21-year-old woman and stopped her walking away before he left the train at Weston-super-Mare.

Police have released CCTV (Closed Circuit Tele Vision) pictures of a man they want to question about the attack on 12 November.

Det Con Richard Day, from British Transport Police, said it was "vital" that they found the man responsible.

"This was an unpleasant incident which left the victim feeling extremely frightened and vulnerable."

A very clear picture - shouldn't be much of a problem picking him up!!  However, looks like the interior of a HST (High Speed Train), wasn't aware that HSTs had CCTV (Closed Circuit Tele Vision). Is this something new??

That looks like the interior of a 150 to me which do have CCTV (Closed Circuit Tele Vision) which looks like it gives good quality pictures so lets hope someone sees this picture and recognises him.

I agree, a very good CCTV (Closed Circuit Tele Vision) image. Could be a Class 143....

Without wanting to belittle the incident at all, the words "sexual assault" and "attack" do not come to mind while reading this.

Hmm...I hate to disagree but isn't trying to kiss someone (that is, to make sexual advances) against their will almost a textbook definition of sexual assault?

Now, I may be a 6'1", 13-stone male but putting myself in the position of a woman travelling alone late at night finding herself on the wrong end of sexual advances from the guy in the CCTV (Closed Circuit Tele Vision) picture (who looks fairly well built) I can totally understand why she found the experience harrowing.

Once again though excellent CCTV images from the cameras installed in the local fleet: seems like they're turning out to be a very good investment. Hopefully they'll be a great help in apprehending the suspect. Seems like BTP (British Transport Police) might be getting their act together with the necessary legal formalities as well, since we appear to be down from over a month before these press releases appeared to two-and-a-half weeks in this case.
