Mark Heffernan was the Head of Drivers at the point of him being suspended a couple of years ago.

A quick look at linkedin shows he seems to have moved into another transport related role very quickly after leaving GWR (Great Western Railway). I wonder what the new employer makes of his court appearance.  I also notice he was previously Head of Organisational Development and Compliance at GWR, whilst the offences were being committed. Hmmm...

At least the news report shows a current GWR (Great Western Railway) train, and not a random alternative.

A proper intercity train has a minimum of 8 coaches, gangwayed throughout, with first at one end, and a full sized buffet car between first and standard.
It has space for cycles, surfboards,luggage etc.
A 5 car DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit) is not a proper inter-city train. The 5+5 and 9 car DMUs are almost as bad.
