Off peak and anytime same price. Why offer both?

That's Melksham to Bristol Temple Meads in the screen capture - but not sure why there should be two tickets, anytime and off-peak day returns, at the same price for the same journey.

What are the fares for both Chippenham and Trowbridge to Bristol(TM^‡(resolve)) and thus would it be cheaper for punters to travel in peak times Chippenham or Trowbridge to Bristol(TM) on a Melksham to Bristol(TM) anytime day return. THAT WOULD boost ticket sales for Melksham if it was cheaper if not actually increasing Melksham stations footfall.

I don't think there are any such anomalies left ... and from my view thank goodness. I would rather have real figures than ones that people question - ones that look good but in fact are icing on hot air!
