From FGW (First Great Western) website:
Train services are being disrupted due to an operating incident between St Austell and Plymouth.Engineers are working as fast as possible to restore services to normal. Short notice alterations, cancellations and delays can be expected.

Train services between Par and Newquay are being replaced with alternative road transport.

Which has affected the Newquay-London service:

15:00 Newquay to London Paddington due 20:40
This train has been terminated at Par.It will no longer call at: Lostwithiel, Bodmin Parkway, Liskeard, Plymouth, Ivybridge, Totnes, Newton Abbot, Exeter St Davids, Tiverton Parkway, Taunton, Castle Cary, Westbury, Pewsey, Bedwyn, Newbury, Reading and London Paddington. This is due to an operating incident.

An additional service will run from Par to Plymouth calling at Lostwithiel, Bodmin Parkway and Liskeard.

Over to Devon Metro or someone in the local area to update us with what the operating incident is.

Not sure what the incident it, but I know it happened on/with 1A92 (1500 NQY (Newquay (Station)) PADD). Will see if I can find out.

Not able to give details of the incident, but the local 14:50 Penzance to Par was held 39 mins outside of Par, then had its planned round trip to Newquay cancelled in favour of a 1Z92 special to Plymouth. Next service down the Newquay branch also replaced by buses, and 1A94 16:00 Penznce to Paddington making extra stops to cover 1A92. All customers well informed by train managers / conductors and Par signalbox! (thanks for your help guys!)

Looks like Par had an interesting afternoon. Presume the 1700 Par Newquay bus was run adittionally to replace the two 153s that went to Plymouth.

I personally think is awful that Par isnt staffed at 16:00 this time of year.. Especially when the 12:06 ex PAD» (Paddington (London) - next trains) arrives a hundred or so people cross the footbridge to platform 3 which says 'trains to Newquay' then the next train in is the 15:00 Newquay to Paddington and they all pile on that creating hassle while people try to get through to them if they dont get off they will end up back where they came from!!!

It's more than awful it's down right dangerous. You should report your concerns to HMRI (Her Majesty's Railway Inspectorate).

No junction station should be unmanned whilst there are connections to be made, certainly not one like Par.

The same problem occurs at Bourne End when the Donkey is locked on the branch. I know of numerous people who've ended up back at Maidenhead  instead of Marlow because they didn't realise they had to change at Bourne End.

The situation regarding manning at Par with the 1C81 and 1A92 connections has been raised at a high level at FGW (First Great Western) and hoepfully will be resolved ASAP.

Hopefully it might lead to some less hasty departures in the future Roll Eyes
