Very possibly, although you'd need to check nearer the time to ensure that ticket acceptance was indeed operating. If there *was* a strike but XC▸ (Cross Country Trains (franchise)) was still able to operate a reasonable train service, you would most likely be expected to travel on that. Best advice is to keep an eye on the XC website.

FGW Truro to Taunton then Bristol (easier when there is a through train) then a Worcester service from Bristol is operated by FGW

A stop and reversal at Gloucester would use up most of that.

FGW services via the old Midland (Charfield) Line, call at Yate and Cam & Dursley but also reverse at Gloucester.  AFAIK▸ (as far as I know), they are timed for the 75mph 150X units which are the mainstay of the service.

The talks with the RMT▸ (National Union of Rail, Maritime & Transport Workers) union yesterday (Tue 18th) went well and our proposals are currently being considered by their Executive Committee, who we hope will now call off the strike on Friday. We will update customers today (Wed 19th) when we have further information. In the meantime our advice remains for customers not to change their travel plans for Friday 21st December.

The BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page) is now reporting that both Cross Country and Scotrail strikes have been called off after good progress with the talks.
