My own online research suggests that Eric Butler-Henderson is Vicki's great-grandfather. Eric was the youngest son of Alexander Henderson. Eric change his surname from Henderson to Butler-Henderson upon marriage to a Sophia Butler-Massey. Eric and Sophia beget Lionel Butler-Henderson, who beget Guy Butler-Henderson, Vicki's father. |

I'd suggest using 'begat' rather than 'beget', but otherwise, I'd agree.  |

I'd suggest 'begat' is the past tense, in the sense of describing someone's ancestry. However, 'sired' could be an albeit archaic alternative term.  |

On the 1518 Paddington-Bedwyn today, I sat opposite Sir Max Hastings.
Lives in the Hungerford area apparently, and was returning from memorial service for Sir David Frost at Westminster Abbey today.

Had a brief chat with comedian Tony Hawks on an Exeter-Waterloo service yesterday (03/06). No photographic evidence as yet. I'm still awaiting the email... I've read all his books. If you've not read Round Ireland with a Fridge (the film's not too bad either) then give it a go. It's an unusual travelogue where Tony hitch-hikes his way around Ireland with a small fridge. The result of accepting a drunken bet made with fellow comedian (and featured in this thread) Arthur Smith - "I hereby bet Tony Hawks the sum of One Hundred Pounds that he cannot hitch hike around the circumference of Ireland with a fridge within one calendar month." |

Derek Thompson - I once served him in the Highbury Vaults in Bristol. Didn't go as I would have liked, as he also wanted a bottle of wine to take to a party, and the landlord wanted to charge him the glass rate. |

I guess you saw him when they used to film in Bristol, it's now shifted to Cardiff which is where he was on his way to when sighted by myself. Also one time saw a number of sky sports presenters heading to Swansea shortly before they were promoted to the premiership. They were pretty loud and obnoxious in a 'look at me' sort of way in the quiet carriage... And on the football theme I once saw Rio Ferdinand heading out of Euston |

Derek Thompson ... Ah yes, that's the chap. I guess you saw him when they used to film in Bristol... Indeed: in the very early 1990s, I once literally bumped into Derek Thompson and Nigel Le Vaillant (who played another Casualty character at that time) standing at the bar in the Coronation Tap in Clifton. They were both fine about it.  |

I didn't meet Matt Smith, but I have been a bit of a Doctor Who fan since episode One with William Hartnell. So it was, on Christmas Day 2012, with Mrs FT, N! working, I sat down, glass in hand, to watch the Christmas special, having by this time forgotten all the cares of work, safe in the knowledge that three further days will pass before I need to be reminded of them again.  The Doctor is standing outside my office, about to pull a ladder from the sky. |

I like the way they've disguised the modern cycle racks with some carts, and the CCTV▸ pole with an obelisk.
