Adding a bit of road to the rail

As an experiment, I have added some extra information onto the diagram at the top left of these pages - from the Highway Agency, showing where there problems on the major road. Small mauve spots indicate road works, and larger ones road works that are / will cause moderate or heavy congestion. You may (not very often, I hope) see bright red spots that will report accidents; none showing at the moment as I'm testing.

thats a really good idea! unfortunatly at 10 at night there isnt much for me to see but around exeter and bristol well the m5 and m6 corridor this should be very interesting

If you click on the "current running" words underneath the map ... you'll find that I've enhanced the report page and you'll see more detailed reports of road as well as rail issued.

As an aside, two of my colleagues last week gave up rail for their daily journey from Bristol to Swindon and now drive. They were delighted (not) to take an hour to travel 7 miles of the M4 approaching Swindon this morning due to a pile-up.

Dirty orange spots that I have (just) added show "heavy traffic" - where road system is bursting at the seams this Sunday afternoon Grin
