I've just got to Truro, and there has been repeated announcements for those passengers who missed the 1723 through no fault of their own to make their way to the front of the station where a coach will tranport them to stations west of Truro.
Must say rather impressive a coach was organised in 30 minutes, even if it is A2B travel Truro who store their buses across the level crossing at Truro. Sourcing a driver etc obviously takes time.

The connection from Falmouth was late, arriving 4 mins after the 1723 left.

Assumingly affected the Plymouth bound service around the same time, as train manager on 1824 has just read out where taxis will collect passengers for lostwithiel, st Germans and saltash.
One would think it may of been easier for the 1824 to stop additionally?
How do trains on the branch lose time? There is a fair bit of padding at Falmouth.

It does feel as though the better option in this case would have been to hold the two services by no more than 5 minutes. The westbound service would not have disrupted any other traffic by being a few minutes late - wouldn't even have missed a connection at St Earth.

Both directions on the mainline have nothing either side for at least an hour. Both are 150s which make up time heading west very easily. The last 4 or 5 150s I've caught from liskeard westbound have ended sitting at Truro and Redruth at least 5 minutes due to 'beating' the timetable.

The next westbound was 1846.  Delay compensation is due after one hour.

Hmm!
