One hour and 20 minutes to go 27 miles from A to B sounds like a 150  FGW (First Great Western) on a good day !

But then they don't all go via stratosphere station aka Department for Transport!

In todays PC, cost cutting  and speed driven society, Minnie Mole  and Willy Weasel wouldn't stand a chance as PC Badger would be culled at the first opportunity...

More power to your mighty pen ! You really do seem to be entirely justified in demanding answers to the questions you raise. Somehoe I don't think you would have met such an unhelpful attitude from Stagecoach. Your experience with First is sadly not that unusual, in that it seems to be typical of their  customer service. It seems that sometimes, they go out of their way to be unhelpful.

Seems if we're all going loco under the influence of cocoa ....

Speaking of which, I wonder who will be going loco after the publication of the Laidlaw report later this week. The Transport Secretary has sat on it for a week.... might have been a 'good day to bury bad news' by bringing it out at the same time as the Leveson enquiry report.

In that case we had all better go tea-total for a while,as we  all seem to have gone to the dregs.....hope no one has any grounds for complaint !

Wondered if this will percolate through....

For an instant, BNM's comment had me wondering whether the decision was going to be latte, or are we all going to be ground down by the costa of it all.....

The Youtube video referred to above is as good as it gets. I wish it could be entered for some sort of award as the camera work and the simply stunning combination of steam railcar, azure sky, reflections and Autumn colours is quite simply absolutely stunning v!!

1348  Journey by Journey / Bristol (WECA) Commuters / Bristol Bendy bus scrapped on: October 29, 2012, 15:24:06
Bristol 'bendy bus' plan scrapped from BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page) BRistol website

Plans to run bendy buses on the proposed "rapid transit" routes through Bristol have been scrapped.

The Liberal Democrat-run authority said it will now look at using longer single decker buses with multiple doors to allow passengers quick entry and exit.

Deputy leader Jon Rogers said it was part of a package of "radical changes" being proposed for the bus project.

"These buses will cost less and allow us to put more of them on and increase frequencies on our routes," he said.

He added the authority also planned to bring the new buses directly into Bristol Temple Meads railway station instead of them stopping on the nearby roundabout.

The Sos decision letter on this will appear on the Daft website shortly.
I asked why it had not appeared on Friday, 48 hours after the announcement was made. They are just getting round to it now. Anyone would think they had other things on their mind....

Couldn't agree more II ! I emailed the DaFT» (Department for Transport - critical sounding abbreviation I discourage - about) on Friday asking where it was, and was forewarned it could take 20 working days for me to get a reply. Now I wonder what else they could be worrying their pretty little heads about..hope they haven't founds newts hibernating underneath the bats in Wolvercote tunnel ! I cannot help wondering that if greater crested nets are so blinkin rare, why are they found to be holding up every infrastructure scheme...here in Portishead they are holding up the building of a much needed Sainsburys while they hibernate for 6 months !
