With refferance to adding anything to a malt  the only way to drink it well is to add water in a small measure to wake up the sprit  never put ice near a malt .

Don't agree - a ';domestic' can occur anywhere - often in pubs/clubs etc. Just means partners arguing

I'm with Chris B on this one - it's certainly not restricted to the house - try watching the Jeremy Kyle show! (......I don't....honest.....someone told me about it!  Embarrassed  )

Id rather poke my own eyes out !.

Just popping in for a quick Coffee before bed
As I said in my earlier post today I've been to London and back by FGW (First Great Western) and lived to tell the tale
Without exception today has been the most pleasurable journey I've had in many a long while
Normaly I'm fit and quite able to walk quite well Thankyou but the last couple of weeks or so I've been using a walking stick due to problems with my back
The amount of help and assistance that I have been offered today has been exceptional every single member of FGW staff that I've had dealings with today have been under a great deal of pressure but regardless of the strike have done their upmost to ensure that I was able to complete my journey without any inconvience
So credit where it's due   To all those that worked so hard today to make my journey and everyone else's  as easy as it could be under the circumstances
A Very Big Thankyou   WP.

Can anyone tell me what the legal position is with Reguards to having a guard or not ?
I for one would wish to see train staff that know how to do the job as we have at this time.

Is it possible to by a ticket at Temple Meads without going out of the ticket line ?.
1169  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Re: Asking for fares advice? Please read. on: June 15, 2015, 19:52:29
Some advice would be most welcome on this topic if I may ask for the help of a more experienced member
Question   A young chap who is a student and has a valid student railcard travels from let's say Oxford to Temple meads on his ticket with his student railcard
When he gets to Bristol he has a change of travel plan and does not leave the station to catch the bus but instead gets on the Severn riviera service intending to travel to let's say redland
Knowing full well that it is possible to buy a ticket on this train he boards and when the train manager asks to see all tickets he asks to buy one and shows his railcard
At which point the TM(resolve) in question tells him that he does not qualify for a railcard discount because he should of bought a ticket before boarding the train and then charges the full fare whilst requiring the young man to show him the ticket for the journey from Oxford .

So is the TM right to disregard the Railcard

Or was he as I suspect being a bit of a git ?
1170  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / Re: Newquay branch the jungle line on: June 15, 2015, 14:06:20
Good job the linespeed on that branch is so low....the Cornish traffic must be faster than taking an HST (High Speed Train) from Par to Newquay.
Until the A30 was dualled from Indian Queens to the end of the Bodmin Bypass, that wasn't the case on Summer Saturdays.  I vividly recall being on a double-headed-Class-50-hauled train over Goss Moor, overtaking hundreds of cars snarled up in "trying to get home after a Summer Holiday" mode.

Oh yes the good old run to or from the sun !.
