1G42 1433 Pad to Cheltenham, also left on Line 2 and stops at Ladbroke Grove SN107.

At 1452, it reverses back to Pad.

Is there a problem on Line 2?

I was monitoring the Crossrail testing on Open Train Times. Only lines 1 to 3 available.

1C15 1300 Pad to Bri stopped at Ladbroke Grove signal SN107 for approx 45 minutes. It went back into Pad.

Everything sorted out by 14:30.

On the Westminster City Council planning site, there are the following applications for Paddington Station:

19/09385 Removal of dis-used pneumatic buffer stops and extension of public concourse area at the terminal end of Platforms 11 & 12 and associated alterations.

19/08710 Strengthening London Street overbridge (area above platforms 11 and 12), including repairs to existing cross girders and deck replacement, minor alterations to weathering and enclosure details to Mint Wing, and associated works to finishes.

Both applications are very interesting because of the historical information contained.

With regards to the track layout, if you look at Google Earth satellite image you can clearly see what the Crossrail depot track layout is. This image must have been from about July 2018.

The berths and position lights on the signalling maps do not correlate with what is physically on the ground.

The track layout shown on Traksy is wrong between Ladbroke Grove and Old Oak Common, whereas the Open Train Times layout is correct. The only error I can see on the OTT^▸ (Open Train Times website) Paddington map is at Royal Oak, where signal-berths 52 and 54 are the wrong way round and the crossover into line 1 is in the wrong place - it should connect prior to signal 026 and not after (Traksy is right on this).

I work at Heathrow in a passenger assistance role.

I have always directed passengers etc who need to transfer between T2/3 and T4 or T5 to use the free inter-terminal transfer from the HEx station. Although aware of the Piccadilly Line option, due to the barriers/gates it is never given. If I personally was making the transfer, I could take it as I have a Freedom Pass.

Of course passengers may no longer have an Oyster^▸ (Smartcard system used by passengers on Transport for London services) card, having gone to the Travel Centre at T2/3 Underground station to get a refund, if they are leaving and no longer need it.

Now you cannot refer to the Heathrow Express station as all previous direction signage pointing to Heathrow Express have been replaced by blue signs saying 'Trains'. 

Paper ticket holders to Zone 6, do not need Terminal Transfer tickets to transfer T2/3 to T5.

Confusion is being caused by Terminal 5 not appearing on the TfL^» (Transport for London - about) Rail maps, because they imply that transfer between T2/3 and T5 is via the Piccadilly Line.

I was in the T2/3 station yesterday. There was chaos at the barrier gates every time a Hex train arrived. There was a lot of staff helping out, both Hex and Heathrow Passenger Ambassadors (purple jackets).

Transfer passengers were either being directed to the Transfer Ticket machine or being handed tickets by the staff.

Signal failure at T2/3, closing T4 branch since mid-afternoon, hence TfL^» (Transport for London - about) Rail operating 1 tph service Pad-Hayes and 1 tph service to T5, although TfL Twitter account announcing services terminating and beginning at T2/3.

There was also a problem for quite a while closing the Up Main at Southall.

In May, the 4tph TfL^» (Transport for London - about) Rail service Paddington to Heathrow T4 was also taking over the role of the 4tph T2/3 to T4 shuttle. If TfL Rail is only going to run a 2tph service with class 360s from Pad to T4, are they going to run a 2tph shuttle or will Hex provide it?

I certainly did mean Line 1 - had Line 6 on my mind for some reason.

Paddington map now updated with the Crossrail connection + signalling.

Also added are the missing SN** signals towards Greenford East; the new Up Main to Down Relief Crossover at Kensal Green; the new Up signal (SN126) on the Down Relief at Kensal Green; the signalling changes at Royal Oak sidings - however Poggs has missed the new crossover into Line 6 prior to SN26.

I watched events on OTT^▸ (Open Train Times website).

The failed unit(s) eventually moved to North Pole from Southall TC^‡(resolve) at 21:15 as 5Z06. There was an earlier movement 5Z05 at 19:30.

Yet again the Heathrow Connect was cancelled. It will be interesting in the future when the Elizabeth Line commences, will their services be cancelled. Will they also claim that the Relief Lines belong to them and the other services can keep off.

What is also never mentioned is that not only does EL take over Heathrow Connect, but it also takes over the role of the inter terminal shuttle between T2/3 and T4, which is part of Heathrow Express. When problems occur, it will be interesting what happens if an EL class 345 unit cannot reach the airport to act as a shuttle.

I noticed on my latest trip in and out of Paddington that the Crossrail tunnel lines are now connected to lines 5 and 6.

I already have a printout of that layout.

I was just verifying whether what was being installed was to that plan, and the physical locations.

If you look at Google Earth of Old Oak Common, the entrance to the Crossrail depot is slightly different to that plan - most probably due to the decommissioning of the GWR^▸ (Great Western Railway) depot. 

I did a trip Ealing Broadway to Paddington today in order to video the recent changes to Lines 5 and 6 between Westbourne Park and Royal Oak, in order to ascertain what the final track layout will be. Spent about 5 minutes stationery on Line 5 adjacent to the works.

In the future, I assume with the signalling changes at Christmas, the train would be able to use the new crossovers, currently out of use, and regain line 6.

Hopefully, Peter Hicks - Mr Open Train Times - is well prepared for these changes.
