My understanding is Wokingham box controls(ed) two level crossings - one immediately by the station and one further away via CCTV▸ (Closed Circuit Tele Vision). So perhaps the number reflects the numbers that are controlled by the signaling boxes being lost rather than their specific locations

Though given these are by the station and Star Lane - perhaps someone has confused the number of carriageways/track crossed to the number of level crossings.

Indeed not a good month so far for the Thames Valley.

Whatever the issue is it does appear to be quite localised - possibly to the platform area? - if difficult to repair.

Hello

Heading from great western land onwards to Europe by ferry and was wondering if I can use an interrail pass to cross from paddington to liverpool st as part of my journey?

Thanks to all the replies to the thread. Based on the replies I had a go....

The short answer is yes I was successful in buying from a GWR▸ (Great Western Railway) station, but I did need the BR▸ (British Rail(ways)) Fares 'code' to find it and say that I was confident with the ticket.

A longer answer:

To reply to some of the points above too - the ticket is available as a scratchcard (where you validate it by scratching off the date) from bus stations (and previously [perhaps still?] postoffices) within West Yorkshire as it allows travel on both bus and train. If you buy it from the train station then you would get it printed on a standard ticket stock and is 'dated' so you must choose your date at purchase.

If anyone is interested it's a useful ticket available in 'Family' (£14.20) and 'Adult' (£9.50) versions. They allow 1 day of unlimited bus and train travel in West Yorkshire after 9.30 weekdays and anytime at weekend. There is also an afternoon peak restriction on rail only which was brought in during the past few years of 4-6.30pm which does make the product less useful perhaps on a weekday..... There are 'peak' and thus more expensive versions of the adult one but not the family ticket.

The family ticket allows for  2 adults and 3 'concessions' or 1 adult and 4 concessions. A concession being a child or a holder of a WY issued National concessionary bus pass. It may also apply to those with passes not issued by West Yorkshire but not sure....

Anyway hope this is of use if anyone is visiting West Yorks.

Hello
I'm looking at buying a "DFY  WY FAMILY DAYSAVER TRAIN & BUS" [taken from BR▸ (British Rail(ways)) fares] or called by the PTE▸ (Passenger Transport Executive) a family dayrover as it is the cheapest way to make [part] of a journey I am doing.

What would my chances be do you think of being able to purchase this from a GWR▸ (Great Western Railway) ticket counter or can I only buy it within West Yorkshire? as ideally I'd be splitting tickets onto this so don't want to alight and buy a ticket.

Less useful now for your guest but my understanding is you can do it "online" and have it all delivered to you by post taking around 5 days - providing your ticket is covered by the GWR▸ (Great Western Railway) touch scheme which most (if not all?) are.

or if they have a smartcard (with a photo on it) from another operator then this could be used as a photocard I believe.

Agreed but when on the 16th - I look now and I'm still not convinced it's the emergency timetable so to the less informed they may make judgements based on this information. Sorry I sound exasperated and I do accept the challenges in providing the information but in my mind wrong information (ie what is currently in journey planners) is worse than none.

Given that GWR▸ (Great Western Railway) are saying "check journey planners" is there any way to determine when the journey planners are showing the proposed emergency timetable?

I'm not sure if I'm seeing the "real" one for the 21st and it's quite confusing.
