Cool - good to see. So, is Dartmoor Rover valid on Okey services? Or do you need a seperate ticket to get to Okehampton by train and then Rover on top of that?

Dartmoor Sunday Rover is valid on Okehampton trains.  Also this year, the Devon Day Ranger and Freedon of Devon and Cornwall railrover (and for that matter the All Line one) can all be used on Okehampton trains.

There will be normal Cheap Day Single and Cheap Day Return fares to/from Okehampton from stations in an area bounded by Totnes, Exmouth, Paignton and Barnstaple.
What about Freedom of South West?

Yes, that too.

Thanks for your help Cheesy

Trolleys get turfed off at Bristol if it's a bit busy, and with 2 car thats very likely.

18.22 off Bristol was also 2 car and v busy, with 3 cars sat just off platform 1 in the siding.  Huh

Assume the 3 car was poorly.

Belive 3 car was taken off of the 14.54 Cardiff, as that was formed 2 coaches down to Bristol from Cardiff, and the attatchment is booked 2.

I hear from somewhere that a member of the forum was offering hosting, but it was turned down.....The hosting in question has survivedfor around 50weeks with no outages!

Can you let me know where you heard that, Jim?   I think you may just have just a part of a story.

As things stand, this forum is running as a free service which I'm mainly administering in my increasingly rare "spare" time.  I've resisted the temptation to suggest that some sort of subscription might be in order - it's amazing what can be bought - as I've always felt that's what people want. But seeing the reactions to the "free rail travel for pensioners" thread recently, perhaps I'm wrong.

I'm sorry you have found the server even worse this evening. I've been doing some testing, and I'm also aware of a number of probes and tests being run against the server. Whilst it's very interesting for people to do that, just think that it may in itself be a bit of a problem - partly because it starts setting of alarms and filling long files all over the place so making it even harder for me to spot the specific issues I'm hunting for.  It's rather like getting off a train onto the platform at every station on your journey, walking along to the next door and getting back on again.  Perfectly legal, but slows down operations, skews passenger "on" and "off" stats, and irritates the heck out of the staff.

Chris has answered my question for me!

PLEASE. Can this problem be sorted, perhaps with some better hosting or something. I've just had a try and post a post 4 times, each time I tried to post it, it told me the server was down. Every five or so refreshes and it kicks me out! Is it a tempory problem, or should someone be trying to find a 'big fix'
Do you get the feeling I am pretty fed up?

And no, I am not throwing a teenager paddy!

Answers on a postcard!

15  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: More trains originating/terminating beyond bedwyn for Hungerford and Bedwyn? on: May 20, 2008, 18:30:48
More Bedwyn trains should go further West, and Hungerford should have a better service to the West. Anyone got any thoughts?

Just extend the NSE (Network South East) service to Westbury. Not enough demand for longer distance.

And slowing down more InterCity trains is not good.

This is what I meant, not stopping IC (Inter City) trains there, but extending the Bedwyn services.

I understood what you meant the ex NSE Turbo Services starting / terminating from Westbury rather than Bedwyn.

If you throw into the mix that there is a small squadon of empty trains from Reading to Bedwyn at stupid o'clock every morning to start the Turbo service the idea of having them run as passenger trains from Westbury crewed by Westbury depot makes a lot of sense.

And before anyone says Westbury don't know the road / traction that is small beer in the scheme of things. Reading has a terrible staff retention problem, so training for the status quo also costs a fortune

You'd need to recruit some new blokes (and women!) first though!
