1  Journey by Journey / Cross Country services / Re: Cross Country Franchise on: April 15, 2018, 12:20:09
Cardiff to Birmingham wouldn’t have much impact as the majority of passengers only travel between there. It would also make the trolly system easier and the capacity management would become a lot easier.

Weston and Gloucester calls wouldn’t make them happy but Gloucester’s MP (Member of Parliament) has tried lots of options to get mainline services to call at Gloucester, so it would have to be considered. Weston is a bit too far out (in my opinion) to expect express services to call at but again would be useful. As a passenger myself it isn’t to annoying to go to Cheltenham to connect, however some people don’t like changing and peak GWR (Great Western Railway) services to Bristol are often packed.

Yesterday (12/03/2017) I was on a Green 150 (didn't catch the unit number,)

I noticed several things:

- Announcements were messed, sometimes it will go "The next stop is Bristol Temple Meads" repeatedly up to five times. Also sometimes it just randomly said stations not on the route, for example I was travelling on Gloucester-Weymouth and it shouted "Great Malvern".
- The buzzing system was now "Beep (2 second pause) Beep".
- Is it me, or, is there more space in the isles?

Though, it was very nice compared to the prototype 150s that normally operate the route!

I love the 170s, travel on them GCR» (Gloucester - next trains) - CDF» (Cardiff - next trains) alot. I always avoid the Arriva services.

If you're taking 170s between Gloucester and Cardiff, you are travelling on Arriva services.

Arriva CrossCountry. Wink

Oh ahaha.

Give  XC (Cross Country Trains (franchise)) the 800s

Keep the HSTs (High Speed Train) for us. 👍😜

Just to make it worse...

A franchise extension.

I love the 170s, travel on them GCR» (Gloucester - next trains) - CDF» (Cardiff - next trains) alot. I always avoid the Arriva services: 1. Stops and is cold. 2. No food. 3. It is more of a shed environment.

XC (Cross Country Trains (franchise))'s HSTs (High Speed Train) are amazing; I always ensure I get one when traveling from Bristol.

 Undecided

Still gonna use the rubber seats on the 800s?

8  Journey by Journey / Swindon to Gloucester / Cheltenham / Re: Gloucester: Great Western Railway & Arriva Trains Wales worst for delays on: August 08, 2016, 10:21:17
To be honest, this is a bit of a joke. There is only 3 operators at the station, and cross country run services through the Cardiff Central/Nottingham.

I'm happy of the changes to the units....

My Mum's neighbour is a Train Manager, I think that I will need to speak to him to see what is going on about the train manager sager.

And I'm a little p***** about the interior of the new ones for Thames. No first class on it?
10  Journey by Journey / Swindon to Gloucester / Cheltenham / Re: Gloucester Station - facilities, incidents and developments (ongoing discussion) on: June 03, 2016, 20:12:47
If you are unfortunate to arrive at Platform 1 in Gloucester, your first impression is that you got off the train too early.  It is a very long walk to Platform 2 and the exit.  Perhaps a narrow gauge track could be laid on along the platform.  Roll Eyes

Really? I went to Reading from platform 1 today, I prefer it due to the waiting room that has heating in.

Well, mostly Arriva I'd say being a customer there myself.
