I have been reliably (??) informed that this.....5Z20 1420 Laira T.& R.S.M.D. to London Paddington today is a 'fully refurbished and repainted' GWR (Great Western Railway) HST (High Speed Train)
Seems to be stuck at Laira Jn. according to RTT» (Real Time Trains - website)...

From Steam Dreams website:

"Postponed due to gauging issues and locomotive withdrawal

Tomorrow^s trip has been postponed following news received earlier today from West Coast Railways that Network Rail have been unable to satisfy the gauging requirements for the Duchess of Sutherland despite the fact that it has been run on all of this route within the last year. In addition Tangmere, our reserve loco, may be withdrawn from service when it gets back from a trip that it is on today due to problems with its boiler that require immediate attention.

We are in the process of contacting all passengers booked on this tour to notify them of the situation. We will also be writing to all passengers booked on this trip in the coming days."

bobm - a big thank you! As a direct result of seeing your post I booked the BTM (Bristol Temple Meads (strictly, it should be BRI))/ss Great Britain tour and enjoyed the day immensely. The BTM tour not only included the tunnels beneath the station, but also the former offices in the original station building. The ss Great Britain tour included a look around Brunel's drawing office which is not normally open to the public. Despite the rail strike the trains to and from Bristol ran on time!
