Yes, brilliant but painful sums it up.

Similar situation on Southern sets with no toilet, apparently quite fragrant the morning after.

I think the blue background denotes Reading is in the sea.

or did you mean Reading is at sea?

There is a suggestion that petrol advertising and labelling should have a "climate" health warning. Can't remember which organisation suggested it, but was in this morning's news.

More from the ever growing magic money tree https://road.cc/content/news/269151-labour-pledges-ps50-head-active-travel-spend-get-england-cycling
As one of the comments says, like here, how much would get siphoned off before its supposed destination.

You could say that the comment, on this otherwise sensible view, is a bit OTT (Open Train Times website)

Salisbury??

The connection with curved platforms and the report on the accident where the driver did not comply with the speed limit and ran down the platform at Salisbury
1269  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: December 2019 timetable recast on: December 02, 2019, 06:59:29
What is the situation with the availability of new printed timetables?

Not available at Reading and when I asked was told there was a financial penalty if they were displayed before the 15th!
1270  Journey by Journey / North Downs Line / Disruption between Guildford and Ash - 29/11/19 on: November 29, 2019, 07:26:37

A tree is blocking the railway between Guildford and Ash. This is resulting in disruption to trains running between these stations. Disruption is expected until 10:00.

Trains may be delayed by up to 60 minutes or be cancelled.

Buses have been arranged to run between Guildford and Aldershot.

Not sure about passengers travelling to North Camp and beyond from Guildford.

Did it stop at Taplow, Cliveden being the home of the Astor family?

Isn't sponsoring THE Great Crested Newt a bit iffy at election time?

1274  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Destination Board Fail on: November 26, 2019, 06:58:12
This raises a question I was going to ask. Are visual and audible information on trains from the same source, which my simple mind thinks they would be.

A few weeks ago I was on a GWR (Great Western Railway) service where visual was "saying" one thing but audible was saying something else. Was corrected very quickly.

On Saturday I was on a Thameslink service from Gatwick to Brighton, which as I sat down I noticed displayed this station is Kings Lynn, but audibly it said this is Gatwick. Visual stayed stuck at Kings Lynn all the way to Brighton, but the audible knew where it was.
