Well, I'm all in favour of FGW (First Great Western) reducing their omissions ...

Ollie has produced a very good summary of the timetable alterations for the Glastonbury Festival: see http://www.iworkforfgw.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=108 for details.

Thanks for that latest update, Karl: you and your team are clearly doing some sterling work at Penmere!

And, just as an aside, talking of old place name spellings, how about Beare, Liskerd, Bodman, Redreuth or Pesaunce?

Thanks, Ollie: that'll explain the security blanket of obscurity that's descended over the matter, then!

Good for them though, travelling by train:

"The Prince and The Duchess will travel along The Severn Valley Railway to celebrate the reopening of the line which was also damaged by the flooding."

Sorry, Mookiemoo, I've done some 'digging', but I haven't been able to find out what's going on.

The parking at WOS» (Worcester Shrub Hill - next trains) is managed by Meteor - but their contact number is just a recorded message, saying they're not open until 0630 tomorrow morning.  Huh

The only suggestion I can offer is that you contact them:

Primary Phone Number 0870 060 4416
Email Address comments@londonmidlandparking.com

Thanks, Hafren and eightf48544, for your very helpful replies to that question.  Smiley

As a matter of interest, is there any formal process for train staff to raise such concerns / issues with signal staff, with a view to resolving them by getting things changed, if necessary?

 Grin

Yes, I did wonder whether that might turn out to be rather a silly question, when I posted it!  Roll Eyes

I saw this on their website last night. Why does it need to be on here?

Well, at least partly because, once the train(s) involved have reached their destinations, and/or overnight, that information is deleted from FGW (First Great Western)'s website.  At least here in the forum, the information is preserved for future reference, in threads such as this.  Wink

One may ask the same question of you repeating the whole of the previous post  Wink

Thanks, SDA, for making a very good point: please, may I ask that members do not 'quote' the whole of a previous post, if they are only replying to one particular point in it?  Thanks!  Grin
12657  All across the Great Western territory / Buses and other ways to travel / Re: A new road-railer from Toyota on: June 06, 2008, 20:56:25
I agree, they'd be better than nothing on the Portishead line (!), but at just 25 seats each, you'd need a fair few of them to deal with commuter traffic - and yes, they'd just get clogged up in the existing road traffic mayhem between BTM (Bristol Temple Meads (strictly, it should be BRI)) and the city centre, for example.

More concerns raised over the barrage:

"The company behind the Port of Bristol has expressed 'serious concerns' about an energy-producing barrage in the Severn Estuary.

The Bristol Port Company said the ^14 billion project, which is the subject of an environmental study, would be a major impediment on its future plans."
