1291  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Class 150/1 Revenue Protection on: August 20, 2011, 17:21:09
Hello Vacman.   You say that 150/1s and 150/2s are diagrammed as just 150s.    There was a post on another Forum in May at start of Summer Timetable by a member who claimed to have seen the FGW (First Great Western) May Diagrams and quoted the routes over which 150/1s and 150/2s separately were diagrammed to work over.    Or perhaps do you mean that the two are merely treated as just 150s when allocated to Diagrams.

HelloChris E.   Comments accepted and apologise if gone too far.
1293  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / Re: Cornwall DMU Diagrams on: August 18, 2011, 17:43:55
Further to this, can anybody say if there are any ECS (Empty Coaching Stock) workings to enable units to run to and from Exeter to Plymouth and Cornwall, or is everything either work or attached to scheduled services.   Thanks in advance to anybody who might be able to help.
1294  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Class 150/1 Revenue Protection on: August 18, 2011, 17:14:20
We seem to have gone off the original issue, but I was wondering if there were any services that were actually diagrammed for 150/1 coupled to another unit.   I appreciate it is easy to deviate from the actual thread but, all the same. the points raised have been interesting.
1295  Journey by Journey / Swindon to Gloucester / Cheltenham / Re: Swindon shambles - it's cancelled, then it isn't, then it is again! on: August 17, 2011, 18:14:42
Noted the comments re advice in case of train cancelled.    Ideally, when a train is cancelled passengers should be given advice re amended journey plans instead of being left running around like headless chickens trying to find somebody to give them suitable information
Not a FGW (First Great Western) instance, but I was travelling back from Glasgow Central yesterday and a message was posted on the screens inforing that there was no service between Central and Edinburgh due to freight train derailment.
Good detailed information, but guess what ? No advice re alternative travel arrangements for passengers.
This information should be forthcoming as soon as immediately, if possible.
1296  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Stock cascade of class 150s on: August 08, 2011, 16:34:42
Travelled on 150126 between Cardiff and Bristol T.M. Saturday and quite nippy, in fact.
1297  Journey by Journey / Wales local journeys / Re: South Wales local services - Pembroke, Fishguard, Swanline, etc. on: August 05, 2011, 21:43:48
06 42 Cardiff (ex Hereford Low Summer)  to Pembroke Dock booked 2 x 153 Low Summer, 1 X Pacer High Summer.  No need to differentiate between 142s and 143s as thet are regarded as 1 Fleet for operational purposes.
The HOW mentioned is booked 2 X 153 High Summer so I suspect that a 150 was substituting for a 153.
1298  Journey by Journey / Wales local journeys / Re: Cardiff Bay Branch on: August 02, 2011, 16:46:34
121 Bubbles has day of rest on the Sabbath  (Maintenance).  153 works the Bay.   On occasions has day off on a Saturday if big event in Cardiff Bay as the 1 car cannot cope.    Last year, for example, I went to the Bay on Armed Forces day and came back to Queen St on a 150 which was rammed even in spite of a 12 minute frequency.    Unfortunately, Bubbles can not work any other route in lieu to free up at least 1 coach. If you like, someting that could be summarised as  "Red Tape".
1299  Journey by Journey / Portsmouth to Cardiff / Re: Problems at Westbury, Mon Aug 1 on: August 01, 2011, 18:29:08
Does anybody now what failed ?    Presumably not DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit) as these can be rescued quickly by another Unit.  Suggest freight or HST (High Speed Train).

The 3 car 175 diagram which went to Maesteg was and still is is the 12 39 through train from Holyhead
1301  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Stock cascade of class 150s on: July 31, 2011, 20:18:47
Perhaps we should ignore all the Cascade speculation and believe things as they actually happen and not before.
1302  Journey by Journey / Wales local journeys / Re: South Wales local services - Pembroke, Fishguard, Swanline, etc. on: July 31, 2011, 17:08:11
Yes Anthony you are correct.       Similar to 158s which are not permitted North of Radyr but the Rhymney Line OK.    Around 2004/05 they had diagrammed working to Rhymney.   They do not go now due to revised diagramming sice the big timetable change in December 2005 and their transfer away on introduction of 175s af on Manchester to West Wales services after their release from TPE (Trans Pennine Express) on receipt of 185s.
Out of interest, 175s can be seen on Maesteg to Cheltenhams and occasionally Ebbw Vale also.
1303  Journey by Journey / Wales local journeys / Re: South Wales local services - Pembroke, Fishguard, Swanline, etc. on: July 31, 2011, 16:46:14
Class 153s also work to Barry Island and Ebbw Vale  (Saturdays) and have been to Penarth.   They can also work to Rhymney and I believe one went early 2006 after a new Valley Timetable caused chaos before settling down (working vice 4 cars) .   They can work to Maesteg and been on many occasions.
1304  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Stock cascade of class 150s on: July 28, 2011, 19:41:55
I have read on another Forum that they should commence service with FGW (First Great Western) on Monday next.
1305  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Stock cascade of class 150s on: July 26, 2011, 17:41:24
Just wondering if anybody has had any sightings yet of 150108 and 150126 in service ?
