A lineside fire, and no reports of line closure or delays, or just because there's a lot fewer services running today?
543  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / Plymouth PSB loss of power 23/06/15 on: June 23, 2015, 11:10:14
In a reflection to the power outage at Exeter PSB (Power Signal Box), Plymouth has suffered one today causing signalling outage between Totnes and St German, inc Tamar Valley line, causing delays.

The power briefly went out at home for a few seconds, but came back quickly; however, BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page) Plymouth sustained a major outage along with Plymouth PSB.

And they want to be able to run trains when no guard is available; must be time to start thinking of removing the need for a driver too.

Don't forget NCO will be ideally placed for IKEA and when the rugby starts again, Sandy Park.
547  Journey by Journey / Shorter journeys in Devon / Re: Progress at Newcourt on: June 08, 2015, 13:48:07
Strange occurrence on FGW (First Great Western) twitter feed today, a passenger claiming that 7am from NCO is off-peak, which is backed up from the twitter team, where as the off peak fares are marked restriction W4, which is 0844.
548  Journey by Journey / Shorter journeys in Devon / Re: Progress at Newcourt on: June 07, 2015, 20:17:29
It has the ability to take both cash and card transactions, only the card reader has not worked since the station opened.
549  Journey by Journey / Shorter journeys in Devon / Re: Progress at Newcourt on: June 07, 2015, 11:06:00
Technically, the TVM (Ticket Vending Machine) at NCO is working, just not for card payments (and hasn't been since installation).
Even more worrying, for the past few days, only the STAR ticketing system [ticket offices] have had fares loaded, the Avantix (Ticket Issuing System used on board trains) and all other TVMs (barring Newcourt) have not.
550  Journey by Journey / London to the West / Re: RTT and the 0740 PGN to PAD - 03/06 on: June 03, 2015, 13:17:05
There were no alterations to this service today.

Officially opening 4th June.
552  Journey by Journey / London to the West / Re: Taunton station losing Pumpkin, gaining Starbucks on: May 30, 2015, 08:53:35
Which is not so bad as you can easily walk the 2 minutes to the branch on Praed Street.
553  Journey by Journey / Shorter journeys in Devon / Re: Mindless Vandalism Tarka Line (05/05/15) on: May 22, 2015, 12:05:45
Once again the 05.50 has run over objects placed on the track.   This time a road sign.
554  Journey by Journey / Shorter journeys in Devon / Re: Progress at Newcourt on: May 16, 2015, 02:18:27
Delayed by about 3 weeks.
555  Journey by Journey / Shorter journeys in Devon / Mindless Vandalism Tarka Line (ongoing?) on: May 05, 2015, 15:44:31
The 05.50 EXD» (Exeter St Davids - next trains)-BNP (Barnstaple) ran over 4 concrete troughing lids this morning around Newton St Cyres, which were placed on the rails.  Luckily, the train demolished all 4, but remember what can happen by such wanton behaviour.
