4996  All across the Great Western territory / Your rights and redress / Re: Medical concern over new seating on: May 03, 2007, 19:24:46
If you are reffering to the HST (High Speed Train) refurbs I think there is MORE leg room than in the old sets, can't wait to see what the non HD sets have to offer.
4997  Journey by Journey / Portsmouth to Cardiff / Re: Class 150's For Portsmouth - Cardiff?? Shame On You , FGW! on: May 01, 2007, 18:40:43
The situation seems slightly better in allocation of stock since the new timetable. Sadly this means I get 150s on my local line. But in fairness they are suited for it!

Asking to travel on a 150 from Portsmouth-Cardiff is madness, the seats, on some units, may be the same, but they are far more commuter than medium distance!
4998  Journey by Journey / London to the West / Re: London - The West May 2007 Timetable on: May 01, 2007, 17:58:09
Good to see the old mid morning stop to London at Westbury that currently goes on the avoider, whilst stopping at Castle cary and Pewsey is back. Good to also see the 1102 is retained!  I used to use that service occasionally from Newton Abbot, changing at Castle Cary was a pain! Shame there is no longer a sensible connection from Paignton, I now have to leave 40 minutes earlier!
4999  Journey by Journey / Shorter journeys in Devon / Re: Firms Call For Rail Improvements on: May 01, 2007, 17:49:56
I'd like to see an improved frequency between Exeter and Paignton, particularly in the summer. It would also be good to possibly extend the Exeter-Paddington stoppers to perhaps call Dawlish, Teignmouth, Newton Abbot and then off to Paignton/Plymouth.

Its a tad annoying the 0940 Paignton-Padd goes via Bristol!

I'm also fairly confused as to why the up Paignton-Pad local morning trains misses Dawlish Warren, yet the return continues to call. Mad eh?
5001  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / Re: Saltash Station and Saltash Rail Users Group (merged topics) on: May 01, 2007, 17:46:08
Its good to see that Saltash are getting their services back. I would still consider it better to have one up and down London train and let every local train stop there, so in theory every 2 or so hours!
5002  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / Re: Saltash Station and Saltash Rail Users Group (merged topics) on: May 01, 2007, 17:44:10
Just to say I'm new, don't bite my head off Wink

I can't see them stopping the Golden Hind there, considering it is an express service!
