Does it include disabled access as well?

New access ramp to the down platform being built at the moment to bypass the narrow existing ramp beside the front of the signal box.  Not seen any design for either the temporary or future bridge yet, as ever it is all about available funds.

Unfortunately, there remains a vocal minority cohort, down here who wouldn't be happy with a daily gold plated pasty, wrapped in a winning lottery ticket.  I suspect most of them work for Cornwall Live.

I still miss the free crayons for use in the comments....

The Lostwithiel FB took ten years of campaigning, and should be installed in the spring of 2024

This is around the date that has been indicated to me for installation of the new footbridge at Lostwithiel.

Readers might be interested in this update on the latest incarnation of the Nightjet sleeper services.  Innovative I thought.

An awful lot of work has gone into this TT in the last 4 months.  Dismantled, refurbished, painted and tested with a 66.  Nothing like a deadline to work to.  Bring on the Socttish visitor tomorrow.

13  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Sleeper advance tickets on: May 25, 2022, 19:02:34
Hi All

Trying to get from Par to Cambridge on Wed 27th July, going up on the sleeper ideally with a cabin.

Advance singles are showing as limited availability, but no sign of advance tickets for the cabin tickets which are frighteningly expensive.

Are sleeper advance tickets still available, or has demand rendered them an option from the past?

Am I best just snagging the seated singles while they are there?

All feedback greatly appreciated.

Cheers all.

One and All

Members might be interested to learn about https://www.mpowerkernow.org/ , a Community Interest Company centred on the historic turntable at St Blazey yard, of which I am keenly involved.

The project enjoys strong and significant support nationally, locally, and within the rail industry, and huge progress has been made with the site.  Next on the agenda is the refurbishment to an operational condition of the turntable.

The website gives a great overview, but I am happy to answer queries here.

So, work has started this week to lift the redundant clay sidings from adjacent to the bay platform at Lostwithiel.

The bulk of the salvaged tracker apparently heading to the Plym Valley Railway.

Progress towards the footbridge.

Happy days
