406  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Re: Cotswold Line - 2018 cancellation and amendments log on: May 16, 2018, 17:29:03
The impact of signalling problems spreads far and wide. Luckily, GWR (Great Western Railway) have an easy and regular fix for some congestion issues:

Quote
15:52 London Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh due 17:26 was terminated at Oxford.
It will no longer call at Hanborough, Charlbury, Kingham and Moreton-in-Marsh.
This is due to a fault with the signalling system earlier today.
Last Updated:16/05/2018 16:54

17:38 Moreton-in-Marsh to London Paddington due 19:07 will be started from Oxford.
It will no longer call at Moreton-in-Marsh.

And a very late call too.

Even later than that now

Cancellations to services between London Paddington and Ealing Broadway

Train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 30 minutes. Disruption is expected until 12:00 15/05.

Another fun morning:

Quote
04:47 Hereford to London Paddington due 07:54 has been delayed at Worcester Foregate Street and is now 23 minutes late.
This is due to a shortage of train drivers.

Quote
05:11 Worcester Shrub Hill to London Paddington due 07:27 will no longer call at Kingham, Hanborough and Maidenhead.
It has been delayed at Worcester Shrub Hill and is now 34 minutes late.
This is due to a shortage of train drivers.

Quote
07:10 Moreton-in-Marsh to London Paddington due 08:54 will be started from Oxford.
It will no longer call at Moreton-in-Marsh, Kingham, Charlbury and Hanborough.
This is due to congestion.

The result was that the 05:11 WOS» (Worcester Shrub Hill - next trains):PAD» (Paddington (London) - next trains) sped through Hanborough shortly after the 04:47 HFD» (Hereford - next trains):PAD was supposed to have departed leaving customers for both services to wait for the latter which eventually arrived a little after 07:15 by which time a fair number of passengers for the 05:28 HFD:PAD would also have joined the crowd!

And a little later as a result of the track defect between Ealing Broadway and Paddington:

Quote
09:50 Moreton-in-Marsh to London Paddington due 11:30 will be terminated at Oxford.
It will no longer call at Reading, Slough and London Paddington.
This is due to a speed restriction over defective track.

All lines expected to be reopened by 3pm though displaced trains and crew will probably result in another miserable commute home for some.

Hand back now delayed further with no ETA.  Magnificent work from the railway industry again.

"Disruption" now expected till 2000.....yep, a miserable evening rush hour too.

Now 05:00 tomorrow morning. What odds another disrupted morning rush hour?

Significant disruption this morning due to signalling problems in the Oxford area:

Quote
Cancellations to services at Oxford
Following a fault with the signalling system at Oxford all lines have now reopened.
Train services running through this station are returning to normal but some services may still be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 10:00 11/05.

05:11 WOS» (Worcester Shrub Hill - next trains):PAD» (Paddington (London) - next trains) 26 late at Oxford; 05:28 HFD» (Hereford - next trains):PAD departed Oxford 32 late (having been held at Charlbury for 23 minutes); 05:47 PAD:WOF diverted between Didcot and Worcester Shrub Hill; 07:10 MIM:PAD started from Oxford; 06:53 WOF:DID» (Didcot Parkway - next trains) stopping additionally at Radley, Culham and Appleford.
413  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Re: Cotswold Line - 2018 cancellation and amendments log on: May 10, 2018, 11:17:53
This morning's 04:47 Hereford to Paddington was diverted missing out stops between Worcester Shrub Hill and Reading due to a member of staff being taken ill.
414  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Re: Cotswold Line - 2018 cancellation and amendments log on: May 08, 2018, 15:08:49
A couple that may catch a few out this afternoon:

Quote
15:21 London Paddington to Great Malvern due 17:58 will be started from Reading.
It will no longer call at London Paddington and Slough.
This is due to a speed restriction because of high track temperatures.

Quote
15:52 London Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh due 17:26 will be started from Reading.
It will no longer call at London Paddington and Slough.
This is due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time.
Will be formed of 3 coaches instead of 8.

A truncating of the late evening service tonight - no idea how much real inconvenience this will cause given the engineering works:

Quote
21:28 Worcester Shrub Hill to Hanborough due 22:32 will be cancelled.
This is due to a shortage of train drivers.

22:04 Hanborough to Great Malvern due 23:27 will be cancelled.
This is due to a shortage of train drivers.

23:40 Hanborough to Worcester Shrub Hill due 00:45 will be cancelled.

15:51 Worcester Foregate Street to London Paddington due 17:59 will call additionally at Pershore.
This is due to a shortage of train crew.
Last Updated:27/04/2018 15:45

Presumably due to the cancellation of the 15:14 Hereford to Paddington, though it's not also stopping additionally at Kingham or Hanborough.
420  Journey by Journey / London to the Cotswolds / Re: Cotswold Line - 2018 cancellation and amendments log on: April 27, 2018, 11:05:37

Despite "GWR (Great Western Railway)"'s statements about trying harder, nothing seems to be improving for the Cotswold and Hereford route.

That's six cancellations already today for the north Cotswold Line. Seems Saturday has come a day early!
