The 2320 appears to be booked as a turbo. Looks like the service on 10 was the 2327 local service to Didcot, allocation shows this as being 2x387 (arrived PAD» at 2309). Before that there was a delayed 2250 to Oxford (this would've been a turbo and left at 2305) part of it comes from Didcot and the other part from Greenford.
For the delay, can't say for sure due to lack of delay allocation showing, however it looks likely that because of a 2 track railway in place for part of the trip (engineering works) your 2320 caught up with the 2309 stopper to Reading (can't spot what held that one up though).

When did you make the journey? Edited to add: Looked over last week and can see 2 trains that it could be, 1345 from Paddington on 17th November and 1715 from Paddington on 22nd November. On RTT» the 1345 is showing as arriving 13 late - it actually made up some time from its last stop where it departed 17 late. If it was this one, then you could try appeal on the basis that there was a delay in door release, 3 mins to release doors is unusual unless there was a fault of some sort. https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/C26144/2019-11-17 (link won't last long due to RTT data retention limits) On RTT the 1715 is showing as arriving 17 late, so you'd have a case: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/C20200/2019-11-22If it was before the 17th, it'd need some further research. RTT doesn't go that far back, however there are ways I believe of getting that data still, not something I've had to look at though.

Of course, you might still walk into a row at the Paddington end with another member of staff who doesn't understand or hasn't been told about the limitations on HEX restrictions when it comes to multi-TOC▸ tickets.
Shouldn’t do as HEX trains arrive at non-gated platforms at Padd. Platforms 6 and 7 are gated at Paddington. Only platforms 1, 8 and 9 are non-gated.

Journey by Journey / London to Kennet Valley / Re: IETs to Bedwyn initially delayed - now running from May 2019

I understand that the last Bedwyn service of the day was capped at Reading, with additional station calls added into the final Cardiff train from Paddington which was diverted via the Berks and Hants 23:30 London Paddington to Cardiff Central due 02:26 will call additionally at Newbury, Kintbury, Hungerford and Bedwyn I wonder what happened if you wanted to get to the intermediate stations to Newbury? - I suspect the answer was probably wait for the last Newbury stopper from Reading at 0020, which isn't ideal! Only about 10 mins after the Cardiff would be due to leave Reading though. Admittedly still bit of a longer delay, but on balance (taking into account delay would cause to the 2330 and for those going longer distance) it's probably the better decision.

They certainly need a buffet on the 9 car 802's If the Azumas▸ can have one then Hitachi can retro fit one.
One of the last HST▸ 's to go is IET▸ is IC91 1733 Paddington - Paignton - Newton Abbot-empty Plymouth-Laira.
It is overtaken by IC92 at Exeter and IC91 becomes the local stopping service to Paignton then back to Newton Abbot with usually only the first coach being used.
When it goes IET I wonder if it will be a 5 car 802 although it might be crowded to Reading and Newbury or will it run only to Exeter and the delayed Devon Metro 150'2 do the local service.
The 17.33 to pgn is now a 9 car 802 from last monday. Paddington 1700 27 March 2019 by Robert, on Flickr[/img] If it is an IET and not a HST why is it sitting up on the Crossrail depot reception roads and not coming out of the Hitachi depot. For some reason the image is there but will not show. 5C91 is a shunt move from Paddington to Paddington via the reception line near Old Oak. Today (well, yesterday now) it was 802102. It's basically a move to get the set out of the way for a bit.

Having gone up to Paddington today and then read this, it crosses my mind as to what condition all those nice Elizabeth line trains at OOC▸ will be in when the line is ready. Will they have rusted to the rails.
Hopefully not, although I couldn't tell you for sure, I'd hope that the various Crossrail trains that are out and about most days between Paddington and Reading will alternate as to what unit is used for testing purposes. Naturally it's certainly possible that that isn't actually happening, someone with more knowledge on that sort of thing may know

Except that some GWR▸ changes *did* almost happen today. Locally to us, the earliest Sunday train to Swindon is move 8 minutes earlier and it starts back from Warminster ... hope no-one missed it, except that old chestnut "lack of a driver" caused it to be cancelled.
I have ... mixed feelings about superbly informed social media staff going off and driving trains ... there are some good folks around at the moment, but it's not like those fantastic pioneering days. On the other hand, there is clearly still a driver shortage ...
I think sometimes, Sundays feels like the timetable changes every week what with the various engineering works. I only drive in LTV▸ land at the mo, so unfortunately don't go west of Didcot/Bedwyn.

From gwr.com 23:45 London Paddington to Penzance Sleeper Train
Due to a fault affecting the locomotive pulling the sleeper service from London Paddington to Penzance, and the necessity to replace it with another locomotive from Reading Train Care Depot, the 23:45 from London Paddington to Penzance will start at Reading at 00:46. Sleeper train customers will be able to make use of the First Class Lounge at Paddington, and should catch the 23:30 Cardiff train and alight at Reading to connect into their sleeper train. Pity the passenger(s) who arrives at Paddington at 23:31 or will the 23.30 to Cardiff be held till 23:45. It left at 2345.
