2687  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: FGW queries Which? Survey on: March 26, 2012, 17:15:44
There was one reviewer on which, that stated how poor Virgin were on his wifes regular commute from Cheltenham to Paddington...enough said really that passengers dont know which TOC (Train Operating Company) they are travelling with
2688  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / Re: Falmouth branch line - engineering work, closures, incidents (merged topics) on: March 24, 2012, 20:37:00

2689  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / Re: Western Greyhound Pulls Out of St Austell Rail Station on: March 23, 2012, 22:28:03
I believe it is due to lack of banksman and health and safety, as has been several near misses with people walking behind reversing buses

Thats true of today, but forecast to improve over the weekend
2692  Sideshoots - associated subjects / The Lighter Side / Re: Lee's Travels - Hayle or Yeoford? on: March 22, 2012, 12:58:26
Hayle will be very quiet, with not many people about now, in a month or so it will be packed out once the holiday parks open.
Depends on the nature of your research whether you are better coming now or later, whether you would be better off coming when quiet, or busy.
2693  Sideshoots - associated subjects / The Lighter Side / Re: Lee's Travels - Hayle or Yeoford? on: March 22, 2012, 11:06:21
I live in hayle, what is the purpose of your visit to either location?
2694  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Re: Rules on suspended reservations? on: March 22, 2012, 10:02:26
Platform assistant, as byelaws state that you must follow instructions of any employee of the railway,
morally the passenger already sat in the seat though.
2695  All across the Great Western territory / Buses and other ways to travel / Re: FirstGroup Sells North Devon Bus Operations To Stagecoach For GBP2.8M on: March 20, 2012, 11:35:51
FarWestJohn, Western Greyhound to me have done positive to the routes, but the standard of driving is atrocious. The drivers seem to thrash the hell out of the buses constantly, causing an appaling ride quality for passengers.
My most recent one clipped a kerb at approx 30 mph throwing everyone forward. and carried on as if he had done nothing.
Then approaching a set of traffic lights he left it to the last minute before slamming on his brakes, again vaulting everyone forward.
From my experience the standard on this trip wasnt a one off neither.
2696  Sideshoots - associated subjects / The Lighter Side / Re: blast from the past.... but where? on: March 19, 2012, 17:00:51
I suspect it is approaching Hayle?
2697  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / Re: operating incident Camborne area 14/3/2012 2200?? on: March 16, 2012, 20:04:04
It was a XC (Cross Country Trains (franchise)) service, voyager operated that caused the delay, so not quite sure door on catch is a possibility?
2698  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / operating incident Camborne area 14/3/2012 2200?? on: March 15, 2012, 12:09:20
Anyone know what the operating incident around Camborne was last night? average delays of 40 mins, A friend was waiting at Hayle when the xc due to Penzance at 2142 came through at 2211, when a FGW (First Great Western) stopper was due. the FGW arrived at 2237! Obviously no platform announcements or screens at hayle
