2807  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Olympic Games Train Tickets on: September 25, 2011, 14:29:14
But it was Ollie's post you quoted - so it is fair to assume you were posting on the same thing!

Enough, back to the topic....

Sorry hadn't realised I'd quoted the wrong post to what I intended.
Anyway I have looked further online and only the I.o.c are permitted to use the official words, there copyright also includes official third party ticket sellers......absolutely ridiculous I'm sure can be agreed
2808  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Olympic Games Train Tickets on: September 25, 2011, 13:52:48
I assumed the post I quoted was referring to fgw train tickets for Olympics as that was what the rest of this thread was in reference to (barring ollies post). Quite clearly not that clear after all!
2809  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Olympic Games Train Tickets on: September 25, 2011, 12:39:45
The posts above referred to the "official tickets wdbsite" as did I

The original references saying it as summer games are just referring to fgw page, only Ollie made reference to official site, so perhaps making your posts clearer would help please?
2810  All across the Great Western territory / Introductions and chat / unexpected new track on: September 25, 2011, 11:56:23
Travelling from reading to truro, just looking out the window minding my own business, and noticed we passed through melksham,
Was only planning on doing one new bit of track for me over the weekend, but have due to engineering work diversions and being too lazy to use the tube from waterloo to paddington actually covered 3 new stretches!
2811  Journey by Journey / Cross Country services / Re: XC Calling at Reading West on: September 25, 2011, 10:39:18
Am at reading now, only platform 8 for westbound trains, and 9 and 10th for London bound, the swt to waterloo appear to be in the normal bay platform as well
2812  Journey by Journey / Shorter journeys in Devon / line north from newton abbot on volo on: September 25, 2011, 09:22:06
Was following the "moving map" on volo screens the other day and noticed it shows q branch line north of newton abbot going into dartmoor, what line is this?
2813  Journey by Journey / Shorter journeys in Devon / Re: Tarka Line - Exeter to Barnstaple - services, passenger numbers, carriages, engineering works, incidents and events on: September 25, 2011, 09:19:34
With the falmouth truro branch being 1st or 2nd largest growth I believe
2814  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Olympic Games Train Tickets on: September 25, 2011, 09:13:33
I doubt it! Surely the ticket sellers to tge Olympics would have permission to use it? More likely the suggestion about saving words is the reaaon?
Fgw are not official ticket sellers, they are just selling their normal train tickets which coincides with the timings if the Olympics, therefore they probably do not have correct privileges to use trademarked, or copyrighted wording
2815  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Re: Olympic Games Train Tickets on: September 25, 2011, 09:10:50
Is it a trademark/copyright issue?

Even the official tickets website doesn't seem to say "Olympics" anywhere.

I believe it may be copyright, as p&o wanted to name their new ferries at dover Olympic related names and the I.o.c challenged this as breach of their copyrights
2816  Journey by Journey / North Downs Line / Re: 23/09/11 1803 Gatwick Airport-Reading on: September 25, 2011, 08:07:47
Whilst I was waiting yesterday at reading to go into London,  an announcement was made the gatwick service was leaving from platform 3, which I found odd, as that is a bay platform heading off in the opposite direction
2817  Journey by Journey / Cross Country services / Re: XC Calling at Reading West on: September 24, 2011, 12:20:37
Im on a penzance service, is the closures just local services?
2818  Journey by Journey / Cross Country services / Re: XC Calling at Reading West on: September 23, 2011, 23:18:50

2819  Journey by Journey / Cross Country services / Re: XC Calling at Reading West on: September 23, 2011, 22:29:11
What engineering work? I'm travelling from reading Sunday morning with fgw
2820  All across the Great Western territory / Fare's Fair / Re: super off peak tickets on: September 23, 2011, 21:36:09
The ticket office staff said they can't sell a ticket without the railcards present, but I could use the tvm no problem,
