The site of Heathfield station is right on the A38 so would make an ideal Park and Ride for Newton Abbot, Torquay, Paignton!!

But yeah, its never gonna happen!!

22  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / Re: Back On Track on: July 19, 2008, 22:39:18
I'm delighted you have four cars on Newquay services this summer - but I'll justify that not from an enthusiaist's viewpoint but from the practical viewpoint of giving the customer a practically confortable journey, and I'll free at liberty to ask questions about whether doubling the frequency rather than doubling the train length would have been a better deal for the passengers ...

The four cars was a one off for a pop concert, ended up being 3 anyway. My view wasn't from an enthusiasts viewpoint, I also agree its good for the passengers and is much better than seeing the normal two car set plus two double decker buses.
23  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / Re: Infrastructure Priorities in Cornwall on: July 18, 2008, 00:53:06
It is only on Fridays during summer that the Newquay train is that full.

Where did you make that up from???
24  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / Back On Track on: July 18, 2008, 00:49:53
Back on track with something that is relevant, the Newquay branch is actually booked a four car unit this Friday. First time in YEARS this has been booked, good on FGW (First Great Western).

For those that prefer links that means nothing on a railway forum, see link below:
http://www.visitcornwall.com/site/places-to-stay/b-and-bs-in-cornwall
This is a link of places to stay in Cornwall, but is obviously relevevant as you can travel by train to stay at these places.

Gah. whatever, can we please keep this site on topic, the recent postings are becoming boring. (ok, this is my opinion).
25  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / Re: St Austell Station Car Park on: July 18, 2008, 00:43:11
I did say in an earlier topic there are NO station parking facilities at St.Austell.

Theres are no alternatives either. Staff are advising park at Polkyth.
26  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / Re: Crime tumbles in Cornwall on: July 18, 2008, 00:42:10
Nah, this is just taking the p*** now, basically any article to do with Cornwall could get in here under these rules. This site is loosing the plot and is no longer interesting with the floods of links that are allowed as they are 'relevant', yeah, whatever. Basically if the link involves Cornwall it can get posted here? Nah, rules need tightening, this is stupid.
27  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / Re: Crime tumbles in Cornwall on: July 17, 2008, 23:53:29
And this has SO much to do with Cornwalls railways. Sorry, but the related stories on this site are becoming a complete joke.
28  All across the Great Western territory / Across the West / Buffet Update on: July 10, 2008, 20:13:36
BRITAIN^S biggest rail union today welcomed a dramatic U-turn by First Great Western on plans to scrap buffet cars on high-speed trains, as 700 catering staff, train managers and senior conductors voted for strike action.

29  Journey by Journey / Plymouth and Cornwall / Re: St Austell Station Buildings on: July 03, 2008, 17:52:51
Not bad as it was supposed to be complete last October. I think he is being optomistic with the upside, new building yet to be built, new bridge/lifts to be installed and the old bridge/building to be refurbished, 4 months? Hmmmm, has taken them 4 months to lay paving slabs on the downside...
