3. Which train is the 5P12 - 20:46 Penzance - Par formed from? I imagine the ex 2C50 or ex 5T89

Formed from 2C50

Just one quickie to pick up on.   Is 2C50 Sat worked by a single 153 or is it attached to something else on arrival Penzance.    I.m assuming 5P12 is a 153 if working 5L71 and Looe on Monday after Newquays Sunday at a guess.

Edited to fix quote. bignosemac

Saturdays 5P12 has been formed by a 153 off 5T89, to form Sunday's NQY (Newquay (Station)) then Mondays LOO. Guessing over Easter its been a 150 ex 2C50 to increase capacity.

Sleeper stock sits on Long Rock from Sat morning to Sunday evening.

I have noticed that the Newquay unit now goes to Truro instead of Plymouth on the 5N13 at the end of its workings. Does this couple to the Falmouth unit back to PNZ (5T93)? If so wouldn't Plymouth be a unit short, and Penzance have too many units?

Finishing at Penzance currently are 2 150s from the St Ives line, 2 153s from the Falmouth line, the Newquay 150, a 150 from the 2231 Plymouth-Penzance and a 153, either from the 1557 Plymouth-Penzance as it used to be or possibly now from the 2231 Plymouth-Penzance, I'm not sure which. In the morning 2 150s go on the St Ives line (one at 0655, the other added at 0857), 2 153s and a 150 go on the Falmouth line and a 150 and 153 go on the 0600 Penzance-Cardiff Central, with the 153 detached at Plymouth.

At Plymouth only a 150 and a 153 stable overnight, at Laira. The 150 works the Gunnislake branch and the 153 works the Looe branch. The 153 I believe comes off 5P84, the 1906 Exeter St Davids to Plymouth. The 150 I believe comes off 2P95, the 1916 Penzance-Plymouth but it could come from somewhere else. The rest of the units then run to Exeter, either in service on the 2125 from Plymouth or ECS (Empty Coaching Stock) at 2340. The spare 153 for the day at Plymouth now comes off of the 0600 Penzance-Cardiff Central at Plymouth as far as I know.

Just to confirm and clear up, 19 16 Penzance to Plymouth (150 + 153 off 15 57 Plymouth) forms 21 25 Plymouth to Exeter which seems to be the Summer arrangement.   153 Attaches 22 31 Plymouth to Penzance having arrived ECS from Liskeard off Looe.  The Plymouth 150 for Gunnislake is ECS from Liskeard off earlier Gunnislake.   I think you will find the 23+40 ECS is formed off the last Gunnislake and ECS ex Truro off early finish Falmouth

That makes sense. The Plymouth spare 153 used to finish at Penzance, but as it now finishes at Penzance that wouldn't work, since all the 153s starting at Penzance would finish there.

Thats again for your help.

So as I understand it things run as follows:

Plymouth:

2p95 1916 Penzance - Plymouth (150 + 153)
Forms:
2E89 2125 Plymouth - Exeter St Davids (150 + 153)

5P84 - 1906 Exeter St Davids - Plymouth (153)
5C51 - 1857 Liskeard - Plymouth (150)
Forms:
5P98 2130 Plymouth - Laira TMD (Traction Maintenance Depot) (150 + 153)

2P97 2221 Gunnislake - Plymouth (150)
5P89 1934 Truro - Plymouth (150)
Forms:
5E13 2340 Plymouth - Exeter TMD (150 + 153)

Leaving these for the morning:
5L71 0502 Laira TMD - Looe (153)
2G71 0506 Plymouth - Gunnislake (150)

And Penzance has the following at night:

2A58 2220 St Ives - Penzance 2257 (2 x 150)
2C54 2231 Plymouth - Penzance 0040 (150 + 153)
5T93 2317 Truro - Penzance 2349 (2 x 153 + 150)
In Total: 4 x 150, 3 x 153

Which then run these in the morning:
2C53 0521 Penzance - Truro (150 + 2 x 153)
2U12 0600 Penzance - Cardiff Central (150 + 153) - 153 detaches at Plymouth as spare until 2C48 1557 to PNZ.
2A03 0655 Penzance - St Ives (2 x 150)

Is this correct?

Thanks,
Mark

Looks correct to me, only thing is 2A03 0655 Penzance - St Ives is only 1 150, the other 150 is attached for 2A07 0857 Penzance - St Ives

Hello again,
Just wondering now that the Newquay branch unit comes from Bristol. What service does the ex 2C41 06:28 Exeter St Davids - Plymouth unit now run?

Thanks,
Mark

Formed of a 153 now and the 153 goes on the front of 2C43, 0624 Bristol Parkway-Penzance. All services between Plymouth and Penzance except 2C47, 1353 Plymouth-Penzance and 2E88, 1644 Penzance-Plymouth are formed of a 150+153 for the summer.
