Hi all. On my journey home tonight I noticed that some ground clearing and levelling has been taking place in a field to the west of Theale on the north side of the track just literally on the other side of te railway fencing. It almost looks they are building a car park but it would be a strange place to do do.

There is similar activity between Aldermaston and migham (or possibly west of migham)

Is this connected with any railway works?

And apologies if I have not spelt migham correctly Smiley

Does it possibly coincide with where you'd put the work sites for the bridge clearance work for the electrification?

As discussed here: http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=10511.0

Network Rail are doing works between Westbury and Theale over Easter, perhaps related, but I cannot say for sure.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.
