Can you name this pair? Cash and food stolen from station caf^ Penzance

British Transport Police (BTP^▸ (British Transport Police)) officers are appealing for information after cash and food was stolen from a station caf^ at Penzance station.

Investigators have today released images of two men they want to speak to in connection with the incident, which happened in the early hours of Sunday, 12 August.

PC Wayne Frost, who is investigating the incident, said: ^Around 12.55am, two men entered the station and broke into the caf^ on platform one. They then forced their way into the back office stealing a small amount of cash. The men also stole food and drink items from the fridge before leaving the station with the items.^

Police are continuing to make local enquiries into the incident, including seizing forensic opportunities and are now calling on the public^s help to identify the men pictured in the images.

PC Frost added: ^We are keen to talk to the two men featured in the pictures as we believe they have key information that will assist our investigation. One of the men has very distinctive tattoos, and I am sure someone might be able to recognise him.^

Are the police able to tell the difference between AM and PM? 12.55 is 'post meridium' ie after noon. But if it is in the 'early hours (there's plenty of light around) it's 00:55.No need for AM or PM. Come to that, why are messages on this forum labelled eg '02:23:38 PM'? 02:23 is in the early hours according to the 24-hr clock used by all us railway folk.

I am sure the BTP^▸ (British Transport Police) can tell the difference.  12:55am is correct terminology - although admittedly the railway would express it as 00:55.  I suspect the news release was written in plain english to ensure the message got across to everyone, not just those used to the 24 hour clock.  (After all ITV1 don't broadcast "The News at 22:00").  It would have been worse, as I heard on the radio this morning, if they had said 12:55am in the morning!).  As for the lighting in the photos I think that is floodlighting, after all the cafe would be open at 12:55pm wouldn't it?

As for the forum, you can choose the way the time is shown in your preferences - I have mine set for 24hr clock without an AM or PM in sight.
