As well as a strong team of moderators, we also need a handful of administrators who look after things like new member authorisation, database backups, software issues, and provide further support for the moderator team.

I'm delighted to welcome bobm as a new administrator for the Coffee Shop; he'll be joining Chris from Nailsea and myself as a more active admin; we have a couple of other geeks who we can call on in an emergency.  Bobm runs another web site (in a completely different field) where active updates from many contributing sources are already made, and he's moving that site towards an even more user generated site.   There's an excellent synergy, and significant people skills in an internet / web context there, as well as the technical stuff of the web site.  And - last and (surprisingly) least in this list, Bob knows his way around the railways systems in this part of the world.

I'm sure you'll join me in welcoming Bob as an admin.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

Well - appointing Bobm was the right decision if ever there was one!  For his admin work here, coupled with his TransWilts work, I have sneaked in citation for him in the "individual campaigner" category of the RailFuture awards.   I can't say that citation's worded in quite the same way as the other three I'm posting about this evening as Bobm wrote them, and I had to write this one  Grin ... I hope I can publish it here over the next few days, but I need to get his "model release" on a picture I sneaked!

You can find out more about how this forum works [here] - that will link you to a copy of the forum agreement that you can read before you join, and tell you very much more about how we operate. As well as posting messages onto existing threads, and starting new subjects, members can communicate with each other through personal messages if they wish. And once members have made a certain number of posts, they will automatically be admitted to the "frequent posters club", where subjects not-for-public-domain are discussed; anything from the occasional rant to meetups we may be having ...
