Noting your .sig, CfN, I was standing on one at the time ... but it was gated with those old fashioned swing things with a chappy (or chapess) swinging it. |

2. To add to CfN's guess of Dean Forest Railway, I concur. It's the level crossing on on the B4234 at Whitecroft, adjacent to the recently re-opened Whitecroft Station. I expect no. 3 to be the last to go!

5.  7.  I'm surprised these two haven't gone (or rather - I'm surprised that the second one hasn't gone). It has a handful of direct services each day starting from Bristol Temple Meads and really isn't far from home. Number 5 is going to be harder, I know - that's a long way from home, and most of our members who travelled in their youth won't have had the opportunity to go there. |

A very wild punt on 5. Kirby South Junction on the Robin Hood line where it becomes double track after passing through Annersley (Midland) tunnel?
If it is then the history of the railways in this area is too complex to post. Suffice to say this Kirby South Junction is roughly where the GC» junction of the same name was situated but is at leat 30' higher as the GC was in a deep cutting. We are basically back to just the Midland lines with no trace of the GC at all.
