Glad to see the forum back up even if I had an issue logging in just now since my password kept being rejected even though I had used it yesterday morning.

Sorted it now though

Same here! My password also worked a few days ago and it wasn't accepted. Reset it with the secret question and it was fine Smiley

Keep up the good work Graham! I'm sure it's all appreciated by everyone Wink Grin

Password encryption uses a newer and stronger algorithm now, so everyone has to reset, I'm afraid.   Probably no bad think / plug any leaks!

Just to confirm - EVERYONE has to reset, even admins.  Click on the forgotten password link and you will be sent details of how to reset it - you can choose the password you had before if you want to.

The problem will be if you no longer have access to the email account listed on your profile because then we will not be able to send you a link to update it.  In that case please let the dust settle and contact us via the email addresses published on the site and we will sort it out for you.  Please do not set up a duplicate account - that will just create more work.

Considering to the work I've done moving the server 460 miles, this is a small task for you all  Wink

This morning, the site went live with 121,404 of 132,387 posts ... 11,000 still to upload, mostly with special characters that don't translate too easily in them.  I suspect one problem post is stopping a whole thread being seen.

Also only 7,307 of 7,545 personal messages on the system have been recovered so far.  This is why some mail boxes are showing empty blank ages

Each post / message has a unique reference number, so I should be able to slot in the remaining records without too much fuss (and without having to do it manually!).

Full story still to be told ... I'm concentrating on getting remaining things back in service ... and on my "day job" which earns the dough to sponsor this forum Wink .

Possibly interestingly, it appears that the servers of 1&1 Internet have all gone offline....

Just a note Graham, my avatar was missing so I attempted to upload it again and was greeted with the following error:

The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved.

Just wanted to let you know in case you were not aware.

I wasn't aware ... I have added that to my note of issues (pms, posts, order of board and forums also on the list)

Possibly interestingly, it appears that the servers of 1&1 Internet have all gone offline....

That could be a concern ... though I'm seeing their servers from here. At the moment, the DNS (Domain name service) resolution is with them (the old server was too), but the actually hosting isn't.   There's a bit more to sort out there (I may even move the site back, or open DirectOperatedRailWestern.info if appropriate) over there.  Sorting out and letting dust settle first, and also taking a look at the ^ of the whole thing.
